Judging from this year's attendance at the West Michigan Honda Meet, you'd think that every Honda in the country showed up.

Once a Year Extravaganza

It only happens once a year, but each summer a massive number of Hondas converge upon Gingerman Raceway in Southwest Michigan for the West Michigan Honda Meet. Thankfully, Super Street was on hand to capture all the action from this year's massively popular event.

Long Running

What this particular meet lacks in frequency it more than makes up for in sheer size and quality. But that's to be expected for an event that predates #Gridlife and stretches back a full 16 years now.

Birth of a Legend

#Gridlife creator Chris Stewart wanted to host an event where people could hit the track and have some fun, as well as hang out with a bunch of other people who enjoyed the same things. Thus, this now-legendary meet was born.

Fun and Free

The cool thing about the West Michigan Honda meet is that it isn't quite as hardcore as many other, similar events. It's more about hanging out and having fun as opposed to shaving off a tenth off your lap time.

Diverse Gathering

Of course, that sort of thing attracts a wide array of Honda machinery. Pretty much every gen and model you can think of was there, along with a large group of S2000s

S2000 Dominance

There were weekend warriors, daily drivers, dedicated track cars, and pretty much everything in between. So many AP1s and AP2s showed up that Super Street wanted to rename the event the "S2000 Meet."

Solid Base

Of course, we know why that happens. The S2000 is a fantastic base for a track car, especially if you want to build something as your skills improve.

Notable Participants

Some of the more notable cars in attendance were instructor Scott Hollingsworth and his turbo F20C time attack car, Will Long's TH Motorsports S2000 wrapped in a Nyan cat theme, and the East Coast Boys' pair of Voltex-equipped track monsters.

Getting Acclimated

At the same time, there was also plenty of stock and lightly modified cars there as well. Even if you don't have a single minute of track experience, there's a novice class with instructors to help you get acclimated.

All-Inclusive

It isn't hard to figure out why the West Michigan Honda Meet has been able to last as long as it has, attracting the crowds that it does. After all, everybody loves to have a great time in an all-inclusive environment, right?
