Getting Bigger

It's hard to believe, but 2019 marks Wekfest's 11th anniversary. After starting out small in the Bay Area, Wekfest organizers have taken their show on the road with great success. But as Super Street found out, Honda fans haven't forgotten just how big a spotlight there is on West Coast iterations of this now incredibly popular meet.

Big Scene

Given how large the Honda community is in the Bay Area, it really shouldn't come as a surprise that so many of them lined the floors of the San Jose Convention Center, with many rides traveling from other states to make it.

Quality Builds

That included, of course, a trio of EFs sitting right next to each other when you walked in the door. These three heavily-modded rides were just an indication of the quality of awaiting attendees.

Diverse Array

Pretty much every type of build you can imagine was present, too. From drag cars to track machines to stanced show cars, they were all there. And of course, plenty of hot S2000s to drool over.

Radical Redo

There was a Civic ED that once graced the pages of Super Street back in 2016, but has since undergone an extensive redo including a stripped-out interior and a K-swap.

Interesting Setup

Speaking of drag cars, Wicked 1 Racing was there with an insane AWD 5th gen that, interestingly enough, had fat tires on the rear. That's certainly not something you see every day.

Better Than New

Then there was an older RHD Integra DA fitted with all sorts of hard-to-find OEM pieces including factory aero bits, looking way better than it did when it rolled off the production line.

Modern Appearance

Under the hood of this B-series, it was a different story with a completely shaved engine bay, tucked radiator, and quick-connect harnesses for a much more modern appearance.

All Honda?

Yes, there was a little something for everyone at this year's self-proclaimed "Bay Area's biggest custom car gathering." Though you could almost go ahead and just make it an all-Honda show at this point.
