Seibon Carbon in the House

Seibon Carbon specializes in the design and manufacture of high-quality carbon fiber automotive body components, offering hoods, trunks, fenders, and aerodynamic body additions such as rear spoilers and side skirts. The company debuted in the automotive aftermarket business in 2003 and have been delivering stylish and functional products to auto enthusiasts ever since. Their efforts can be seen in two of the vehicles they brought to SEMA this year: a 2017 Acura NSX and a 2017 Honda Civic Type R.

2017 Acura NSX - The Body

There's an already so much to love about the 2017 NSX supercar, starting with the 573 HP it generates from a 3.5-liter V6, and impressing with four drive modes, the first of which, dubbed "Quiet," allowing you to drive off in silence up to 40 mph if you’re not too heavy on the gas pedal.  This NSX modified by Seibon Carbon features OEM-style dry red carbon hood, trunk lid, and rear defuser, TA-style carbon fiber front lip and side skirts, a carbon fiber front lip, and engine cover.

2017 Acura NSX - The Performance

The NSX above offers Moton Suspension Technology with a Motonsport 3-way coilover. Mix that with Special Edition Pro-Kit performance springs by Eibach and you get one tight ride around any curve. HPS provides a high temp reinforced silicone straight couple hose, and Fi Exhaust rounds things out with an NSX Mk2 Fi Exhaust System.

2017 Acura NSX - Wheels and Tires

This NSX sits on two Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S 265/30ZR20 tires up front and two 325/25ZR21 road huggers in back. Oh, and if you were wondering, the price on a stock twin-turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 24-valve V-6, with aluminum block and heads, and port and direct fuel injection, will set you back around $155,000. Tack on all the aftermarket goodies from Seibon Carbon and you might have to take out a second on your home.

2017 Honda Civic Type R

2017 was a good year for the Honda Civic Type R as Car and Driver added it to their 10 Best Cars list, and we can't disagree. A turbocharged four pumps 306 hp to the front wheels and it can go from 0-60 in 4.9 seconds. The braking is also impressive, going from 70 to nothing in a mere 142 feet! With a top speed of 170 mph, this firecracker is the ultimate blend of performance and poise.

What Seibon Carbon did was to take a car that already had good looks going for it and added more. Lots more. Carbon fiber covers the hood, front grip and lip, front fenders, engine cover, doors, and side skirts.

2017 Honda Civic Type R - Carbon Fiber Everything

Carbon fiber components can also be found on the side skirt extensions, rear wheel arch protectors, roof trim, tailgate vortex generator and trunk lid, and since we are listing everything, you can also find it on the rear center spoiler, tailgate middle spoiler, license trim and rear lip! This car may actually have more carbon fiber than steel although no changes are made to the car's ACE body structure.

2017 Honda Civic Type R - Performance

J's Racing provides the SUS Exhaust Plus Dual 70RS system and Injen Technology has added a Wrinkle Red Short Ram Air intake system with FM1582i intercooler. Eibach is responsible for the PRO-PLUS kit (pro-kli springs and sway bars). Up front, you will find Coplus Full LED headlights and under the chassis are Vol Racing CE28 Club Racer II Black Edition 18x9.5 ET38 5X120 rims on Toyo Proxes R888R 245/40ZR18 tires.

2017 Honda Civic Type R - Performance

Inside the cabin, you will find more carbon fiber around the interior trims and steering wheel.

Honda-Tech is here in Las Vegas all week to catch the hottest builds and bring them to you live. And to be honest, what’s hotter than these two carbon fiber performance cars? Stay tuned as we bring you the best of what SEMA 2018 has to offer over the next few days!
