Old Skool Honda Meet 2021 in San Diego

Getting Back to Car Meets

With things opening back up in SoCal, the auto enthusiast world is slowly but surely finding permission to do the things we love to do, but haven't been able to for the past year or so. And that time away has given all of us a greater appreciation for opportunities to gather and enjoy the company of our fellow enthusiasts and their cars.

Massive Turnout

So it's no surprise to see such massive turnouts when there are events like the Old Skool Honda meet in San Diego. Everyone's been dying to get out, drive, and show off their builds. And the Ski Beach parking never stood a chance, with event attendees overflowing out of the limited parking space area, and having to park along the entrance/exit path.

Nice Variety

And while the organization is called Old Skool Honda, there was no shortage of variety at the gathering. From '80s Civics to '90s NSXs, and all the way into the new millennium with S2000s and newer Hondas, there was a Honda build of every era. And all different types of projects, too, from thorough track builds to moderately modified cars, and even 'in-progress" DIY builds.

First-Come, First-Served

The word about the gathering had seemingly spread like wildfire online. And the free, open-to-everyone event saw participants dropping in from before the announced start time of 8 am. Early birds were able to park in the lot, while later arrivals had to grab spots on the driving path. This created a bit of traffic coming into and out of the lot, but most everyone was able to find a spot.

Packed All The Way Through

It continued to be completely packed all the way up until around 11 am. As early arrivals were ready to head out, more folks were making their way in. And everyone was able to show off their ride and enjoy checking out others' cool builds.

Beautiful Morning For a Honda Meet

While the San Diego Sunday morning weather forecast was looking overcast, for the most part, the sun did peek through briefly. Thankfully, it stayed dry throughout the duration of the gathering. Organizers such as Old Skool Honda will be putting on more events and meet-deprived Honda lovers will be ready to jump on the opportunity each and every weekend for the foreseeable future!
