Indonesian Modification Expo 2019 is Two Days of Best Builds
You might not think of Indonesia as a hotbed for Honda enthusiasts, but it most certainly is.
Unlikely Enthusiasm
While we know that automotive enthusiasts exist all across the globe, we're often taken aback at the enthusiasm we find in places you wouldn't normally expect it to. That includes Indonesia, a massive Southeastern Asian country that's one of the most populated in the world. With such a highly-concentrated population, public transport is typically the way most folks get around. But there are a select group of enthusiasts who have a much better method, of course.

Major Player
Super Street happened upon this hot, up and coming automotive scene recently when they attended the Indonesia Modification Expo (IMX). There, they found a host of top-notch builds, which is not something you'd expect. But as it turns out, Indonesia is quickly becoming a major player in the world's automotive aftermarket community.

Laser Focused
IMX, now in just its second year of existence, isn't your typical car show by any means, however. Entries are limited to only 50 cars, with an emphasis being on featuring only the best-of-the-best builds. They also focus heavily on variety and showcasing the latest and greatest aftermarket parts for attendees.

Two Days of Goodies
IMX takes place over a two day period, giving enthusiasts plenty of time to check out the small show field and latest aftermarket offerings. It also features plenty of vendor booths, so fans can get up and close info on these wares. Not to mention a host of panel speakers who're more than willing to pass along valuable info and enlightening experiences.

Leaving an Impression
IMX even gives away a car at the conclusion of the event, which obviously makes it well worth attending. But it was the project cars on display that really left an impression on Super Street. "After traveling halfway around the world, I was most interested in seeing how the project cars stacked up against ones we'd see at our local Wekfest and SpoCom events," SS said. "I'll admit, the quality of some of the body and paintwork was top notch. Many builders also know their stuff when it comes to legit parts and has a concept that flows."

Exceeding Expectations
Not too shabby for a second-year event in a country not often associated with such a thing. "The future of Indonesia's car culture looks bright, and we're looking forward to seeing more," SS concluded. And if that isn't a ringing endorsement, we don't know what is.

Universal Love
