The Honda e packs quite a lot for a small car. In addition to having several color options, buyers will get to enjoy a well-designed interior, smooth and quiet rides, fast charging, HD displays, and great vehicle performance. These will be offered at a premium price.

A Dream Come True

The original Honda e first appeared in 2017 as a concept car. True to Honda's word, the electric car that many thought of as a dream is now here. The company does not just want you to move around with it, they want you to stand out from the crowd.

Free Body Color

The body color that you'll see on most examples is a fluorescent yellow. If you'd like vivid blue, white, grey or any other hue that's on offer; you'll need to pay slightly more above the buying price. Some of the colors will definitely create waves of attention wherever you go.

Few Compromises

Unlike most production cars that make significant changes when compared to their concept versions, the Honda e makes little to no compromises. The wheels are as large as they appeared and the car also boasts of rear doors.

No Door Mirrors

There are no door mirrors on the e. This is because car designers thought that they wouldn't look good on the car. In place of them comes rear-view cameras that improve visibility. Drivers will be able to spot items and pedestrians they wouldn't while using traditional car mirrors.

HD Displays

The full width of the dashboard boasts of three displays. The one right in front of the driver has all the necessary details required for his drive while the other two screens are part of the infotainment system. Honda included smartphone pairing, a virtual aquarium, and HDMI. The last feature allows you to play video games from the Super Nintendo Classic Mini and Google Chromecast.

30 Minute Charge

The e runs on a 35.5 kWh battery pack that offers 137 miles of range. It takes only 30 minutes to charge the battery to 80 percent where a fast charger is available. Honda insists that the battery is of the right size. If it were to be any bigger, the e would have to be upgraded from a tiny four-door car.

Interior

The e is extremely minimal. There isn't much that goes on inside. There are carpet mats to match the upholstery and lounge-like ambiance of the car. A faux grained wood finish on the dashboard provides the lovely contrast needed within the cabin. Passengers at the back also get LED downlighters.

Silent Drives

The Honda e moves silently along city highways at speeds almost comparable to other small cars. The suspension used match that of larger Honda vehicles. There is great traction from the rear-wheel-drive setup and cornering feels assured and planted.

Premium Price

Starting at about $37,180; the e proves to be a premium car sold at a premium price. It boasts of plenty of features to match the price tag and has been severally referred to as the best luxury electric city car.
