Falken Tire Track Day Draws Industry Partners
Celebrating the launch of their new RT660 tires, Falken hosted a track day to allow a diverse group of racers experience the tires on their own cars.
New Falken Tire
Falken recently came out with the newest iteration of their Azenis tires, named RT660. This tire design replaces the outgoing RT615K and RT615K+ series that have been in production for the past decade. With the new tire, the manufacturer has made significant improvements in the categories of overall grip as well as tread life.

Celebrating the Launch
And to celebrate the introduction of the RT660, Falken hosted an event at Buttonwillow Raceway Park late last month, bringing together automotive industry partners and track day warriors. The participants were each given a set of Falken tires to fit onto their own vehicle, and take laps around Buttonwillow to get a good feel for the performance of the tires.
Diversity on the Track
The event was a success, and attendees came away with positive things to say about Falken's new tire compound. Amazingly, there was a huge variety of vehicles on track, ranging from the usual Honda track build, all the way to El Caminos, and even unique creations like the buggy in the photo above.
Progressing Tire Technology
As tire technology progresses, manufacturers etch closer and closer to achieving the perfect balance of performance and durability. And with the RT660, Falken has taken one step closer to realizing that elusive goal. The fact that the company is also offering more fitments with the new tire will mean they will be capturing a larger portion of the market in the coming years.

Fun Day at Buttonwillow
The participants were broken up into 3 groups and given ample time to acclimatize themselves with the track and the tires and optimize their car setup. Everyone at the event reportedly had a great time and had great things to say about their experience with the Falken tires. And how could you not? Free tires and a full track day? Sign me up!

Great Success
Though the melting hot weather at Buttonwillow is usually a challenge for track days, the temperatures remained relatively low with help from a soft breeze. Even the weather was amazing! Is there anything that didn't go well? All in all, it was a great success for the organizers and everyone involved.
