The Dark Pilot Rises

In the name of eye-catching style packages, Honda dropped a top-of-the-line trim package for Pilot that looks like it could double as Batman's daily. Based on the Honda Pilot Elite trim, the 2020 Honda Pilot Black Edition adds exclusive interior and exterior upgrades to distinguish itself in look and price.

All Black Everything

This murdered out Honda Pilot is dressed in a Crystal Black Pearl paint that gives the crossover a more matte than gloss appearance. For those that wouldn't know this is an exclusive trim level, Black Edition badges adorn the grille and tailgate.

20's

Distinct 20-inch alloy wheels come standard on the Black Edition. On top of the blacked-out rims, black chrome accents the front grille bar, side trim, window trim, and fog light accents, rear bumper, and body-colored door handles round off this Pilot's dark demeanor.

A Touch of Red

Black headliner encases the Honda Pilot Black Edition cabin. A leather-trimmed steering wheel and perforated leather seats treat the driver and passengers, with red accent stitching lining the front and second-row captain's chairs, door panels and steering wheel for added finesse. The Black Edition logo is embossed on front seats and floor mats, in case you still weren't aware of how unique this new Pilot is.

Also noteworthy of the interior, red ambient lighting sets a mood throughout the cabin with lighting on the center console and beverage holder, door handle recesses, the storage pocket, and front footwells.

Earth Dreams

Honda's tried-and-true "Earth Dreams" 3.5-liter V6 is Pilot's standard and only engine option. "Earth Dreams" on the V6 refers to engine innovations like a three-stage VTEC system for a 10% or greater improvement in fuel economy and a 5% or greater improvement in output compared to current Honda engines. The V6 was updated last year with a quicker and less jarring stop/start system. For the Black Edition, the V6 is paired with Honda's 9-speed automatic.

Price Tag

Honda's top-tier trim for Pilot pushes the price tag into the $50k range. At a $1,500 premium over the Elite trim, the Black Edition's price tag includes a $1,095 destination charge. Including the destination charge, the Black Edition comes to $50,715. With all the visual upgrades, standard Honda Sensing, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, and even standard Torque-vectoring all-wheel drive; if a top-of-the-line Honda Pilot is where your heart is set, don't deny yourself this ultimate family hauler.
