Dream Realized

The story of Tam Le and this NSX is a familiar one. The first-gen NSX has always been his dream ride, and he's owned all sorts of Hondas prior, including an S2000, EG Civic, and a Type R, along with a Ridgeline, Odyssey, and Prelude. It was just over a year ago when Le's exhaustive search for an NSX finally led to him acquiring building his dream ride, which deservedly landed a recent feature at Super Street.

Rough Around the Edges

With values skyrocketing in recent years, it's getting harder and harder to find good deals on solid cars. This particular NSX wasn't in the greatest shape and needed some work, but that didn't phase Le one bit. He had a vision for the car from the start and began working on realizing that immediately after bringing the car home.

Interior Upgrades

The interior received a host of updates, including an S2000 gauge cluster with a Qube LED upgrade, carbon fiber cluster trim, Zanardi floor mats, NRG short hub, Works Bell Rapfix quick-release Yoshioka Special Edition, Momo Race 320mm steering wheel, carbon fiber shift knob, Integra Type R shift boot, carbon fiber overlay, dash cam rearview mirror and back-up camera, Science of Speed billet window and door levers, Ridies leather seat covers, door cards, armrest, center console, and sub enclosure, and LED dome/door/courtesy lighting.

Engine Work

The engine wound up needing the most work of anything on the car, and Le had to give it a rebuild before he began modifying it. Then, he treated it to Top Speed Pro 1 headers, a custom exhaust, dual Magnaflow mufflers, dual Vibrant resonators, an X-pipe, M Style exhaust tips w/carbon fiber sleeves, Prospeed Stage 3 chip w/RDX injectors, Dali Racing intake pipe, a K&N air filter, custom adapter to fuel filter, fuel pressure gauge, Cometic head gaskets, a Mishimoto radiator, Venair silicone radiator hoses, and various billet engine dress-up pieces.

Riding Slick

The NSX rides on a set of 17x9" Rays TE37SL Graphite wheels up front and 18x10.5" in the rear, which is wrapped in Federal SS595 street tires. The car rides on a custom-made cup kit featuring a variety of pieces from Stance Parts and BC Racing coilovers to provide a solid yet pliable ride around town.

Exterior Redo

On the outside, Le treated his NSX to a widebody kit with Downforce GTS vented front fenders, Taitec rear quarter panels, a Type R hood, a Shine Auto front bumper, Pride Marga Hills Style side skirts, and Route KS carbon side scoops. He also added a GT500 carbon fiber wing with powder-coated wing stands before respraying the entire thing in a fresh coat of Formula Red.

Attention Grabber

Le's dream NSX isn't quite done yet, however, as he's currently waiting for Science of Speed's new supercharger kit to be released so he can add a bit more power to his ride. But at least for now, this thing is more than worthy of all the attention it's received thus far.
