The thread i never wanted to make (RIP Helga)
count another EF dead. i crashed my sedan on thurs 9/14. insurance toataled it.
i was travaling on the 91 southbound near Anahaim when trafic came to a standstill. i was going 70 and slowed down with it. when i got to 45 some ******* cut the guy infront of me off. he slamed on his brakes and i slamed on mine. it was a raised 4x4 dodge ram. trailer hitch punched a hole into the headlight and all the way though to the cam shaft gear. pushed the motor back a good 3-4 inches on that side. bumper plowed into the hood breaking off the battery posts so i couldent get out (power locks and power windows) the truck had 2 very minor dents on the bumper and scraches on the hitch. i aparently went under him witch is why the bumper down is untouched.
RIP 91 civic sedan "Helga" now in the big parking lot in the sky.

Did you say you couldn't get out of the car because it has power locks and there was no power?
Isn't there still a little latch to flip to manually unlock it?

Rest In Pieces...
I have killed 2 EF hatches... I feel your pain... Sadly both were my fault. Both rolled at 70-80 mphs. Not pretty. Anyway, sorry to hear it.
I would at least grab that intake manifold, ecu, dizzy, and resister box and sell that as an MPFI swap on Ebay... at least you can make a few bux off it.

Is that an EX? Or does the LX have power locks and windows also? You could make a pretty penny off of the power window stuff and min-me stuff. IF it is an EX I want the ECU.

Re: (1989CivicSi)
Looks like an EZ fix...the frame looks ok and the core support isnt too hard to change. Even the drivers side mount pocket can be replaced pretty easily...and D15s are a dime a dozen. I donno it would just suck if you junked it when the damage could be much worse. I just got done fixing a four door that had similar damage but overall the car was in much worse shape than yours (ex-tweeker's car, haha).

Re: (RexinSi715)
Heres some inspiration..this car actually got hit twice in the front...luckily the frame survived both times. We spent probably no more than $200 in parts and did all the labor ourselves.
Right after we took off the old core support (we ripped it off with my wagon, haha):
This is how it stands right now. As you can see its still a work in progress and the hood isnt aligned 100% but you get the picture.
