Work of Art

The S2000 remains one of the most popular vehicles to modify in the world, mostly because it's such a great car in stock form. Throw in a robust aftermarket ripe with offerings, and you've got the perfect blank canvas for an artist like Cameron Brass, who owns this particular AP1 that was recently featured over at Super Street.

Good Candidate

Brass had wanted to own an S2000 for years prior to actually acquiring this car. He eventually found a gem in this black AP1 that was already equipped with a real Mugen hardtop, J's Racing hood, and Spoon coilovers. The car wasn't perfect, however, and Brass proceeded to take care of some dents and scratches before respraying the car its factory Berlina Black hue.

Unique Build

From there, Brass took a popular approach to his build - add some JDM flair without looking too much like every other built S2000 out there in the world. And needless to say, he smashed that goal. There are little unique touches everywhere on this car, starting up front with a bumper that's a mash-up of an OEM AP1 front fitted with an RSG Gears front lip, APR carbon splitter, and Chargespeed brake ducts.

Polished Jewel

The engine bay is every bit as beautiful as the exterior of the car, with loads of Spoon pieces and titanium bits. The former supplied the exhaust, headers, engine and transmission mount set, radiator hoses, oil filter cap, strut bar, and reservoir covers. Interestingly enough, Brass chose not to modify his engine too much, because he didn't want to mess with its greatness.

Dressed to Impress

Pop open the door of this AP1, and you'll find a host of carbon fiber parts including a Zoom mirror, gauge surround, door sills and A-pillars, center console, and door cards. There's also a set of Recaro pole position seats in here, along with a Personal steering wheel and more dress-up parts than you can shake a stick at.

Notable Additions

Other notable exterior items include Downforce carbon side splitters, ASM front fenders, Voltex rear over fenders, and an APR rear diffuser out back. The car rolls on a contrasting set of Hyper Blue Volk Racing TE37SL wheels, which cover Volk Racing TE37SL wheels.

Fruits of Labor

A carefully curated parts list and some immaculate body and paintwork created what is easily one of the most beautiful S2000s we've seen in some time. It took roughly eight years to make this dream a reality, but now its owner can simply enjoy the fruits of that journey and soak in all the compliments he receives from his own personal work of art.
