The Few - The Proud...Tuner Nation Baby!

Chances are if curiosity was tugging at your heartstrings as you clicked into this slideshow, you're like the rest of us that did; you possess the innate ability to appreciate a fine work of automotive excellence when you see one! (Let's face it, we are in the few...but of the proud!) Speaking of pride, Aimgain has crafted something so voluptuously enticing, our children (or future children) are lucky it's out of our price range - lest they send themselves to college!

Yea, we said it; you were thinking it though! The fact is, the 2nd-gen NSX already looked like an all-wheel road-reaper out of the box! But just when you thought it couldn't get any sicker - Aimgain steps in!

Hot boi all day long!

If you cruise around the tuner forums long enough, you'll already hear people jabbing jaws about this kit! Once images from the 2018 Tokyo Auto Salon proliferated across the net, with mouth-watering glimmers of its sheer depth of scope, we wanted it instantly! It's buzzing in the forums, it's buzzing on social media, and now - it'll be buzzing in your head all night long! The NSX is already a killer-looking car, but Aimgain's carbon fiber body enhancements catapult it to McLaren status!

But aesthetics aren't the only similarity it shares with the 600LT (the McLaren it's currently being compared to in the forums); some estimate the whole package, including labor (and some extras), to top the base price of the 600LT altogether! So, how much is it?

If you know you know

It's chump change - for Jeff Bezos! But we're pretty sure you're not Jeff. (We have him down as more of a helicopter guy, truth be told.) If you're like the rest of us, one look at this panoptic styling upgrade will instantly auto-file it onto the "secondary" bucket list (the list things go on when they're never going to happen).

Have faith, friend; forum users in July reported the kit's cost to be around 3.9 million Yen. Don't worry; it's not as bad as it sounds (the conversion rate sucks for the Yen right now). It' only about $35,600! (Ok, it is as bad as it sounds!)

Worth It?

So, is it worth it? $36,000 isn't exactly tomorrow's lunch. But then again, this isn't that stale slab of processed yeast your grade school cafeteria tried to sprinkle cheese on and call it a pizza, either! This is big-timers! The wide-body kit kicks those lips out into opposing lanes of traffic, where they should be! 50mm (per side) in the front, and 80mm (per side) in the rear, giving you a total of 100mm of track authority in the front, and 160mm in the rear!

Sounds sick, right? Don't get excited yet...you're still gonna need a set of wheels and tires to go with all that carbon fiber!

Absolutely Worth It!

Let's be real here, and talk numbers. No matter how you equip it, the NSX is going to put a sizable dent in your nest egg; it starts at $157,500, but add a few racks on top for dealer taxes and licensing - your mid-life crisis has successfully commenced! Let's say you get out the door for a clean $180,000; a $35,600 body kit tips the scale at $215,600 - not including wheels and tires; not including any suspension mods you want to throw in; not even including labor!

But post-graduate education is for the birds! With a few FASFA grants (and a strong public education framework in action) your kids will be just fine! Go forth and live, friends!
