Thats what I was thinking...
Maybe you should have bought some Recaros or something before you invested in those harnesses...

how would it be unsafe? you need to have the harnesses at a 90* angle and that is all, good write up and those are some great looking harnesses

wow dude....all you need to do to keep the seatbelt light off is to unplug the connector under the seat. I hate when people hack up wires for no reason.
And why the 300 bucks on a harness bar, when it's not any safer with or without it!? Spend anothr hundred and get a 4 point!

If you roll the car with the harness on the only thing keeping the roof from collapsing is your head. Generally, that is a bad thing.
A four point roll bar is necessary when using a harness, IMO.

umm...what if you role the car with regular seatbelts and they lock up? What keeps the roof from collapsing on your head then?

What they are trying to say is that with a 3 point belt like the stock one you can at least slide to the side to maybe the passenger side seat if the roof caves in. You can't do that with a 4pt harness like the Takata. Just wanted to clear that up for you.

Why didn't you just buy the Takata Harness that connects to the harness bar, instead of drill into the car? I personally like it! I'm looking to do the same!

That was something I had thought about but since the posted speeds in Hawaii is 55mph and I don't plan on being an idiot behind the wheel any time soon, and the fact that the car will be driven on the weekends....maybe, would significantly lower the chances of a roll over.</TD></TR></TABLE>
If you're only going at 55mph, then I guess there was no need for the harness then, hey? Regular seatbelt could have done their job.
If it was a cosmetic mod, then that's cool
But I still say it'd look better with a proper racing seat..

Good chit mang, good write up and good choice of parts. Keep it rollin FOOOO
I think its safe, but that all depends on how high your shoulder is.
