Default 12.48 @ 118 mph in an internally stock GSR Turbo Civic

At the Palmdale drag strip Erick's Racing http://www.ericksracing.com/ posted a 12.48 @118 mph in a GSR Turbo. Given that this was on street tires with an internally unmodified engine with stock gearbox, we think this rates a mention.

(He also recently ran a 10.7 at 123mph in a 2 B series litre NA Civic.)

Specifications are:
Full body full interior Civic hatch
Stock GSR engine and gearbox
Turbocharged and intercooled with 10 lb boost
HKS Boost controller
300 Crank horsepower
BF Goodrich Comp TA street tires
Stock fuel pump
Hondata Stage 2b engine computer upgrade
Erick's Racing fuel pressure regulator
RC 440 injectors
30 + Highway mpg.

What times are other people getting with stock GSR engines running similar levels of boost?

Doug

wow at first i was like 12.48 that's ok, but on street tires I took a double look. That's really great. 118mph traps, that's 11 sec territory

118 MPH is EASY 11 second territory. I believe my friend ran a 11.3 @ 119 in his nitrous Hatch.

C'mon!!!!! I wouldn't say it is easy! Hell, I still haven't hit an 11 second pass! But that is the right trap for high 11's!

BF Goodrich Comp TA street tires, do they really hook up that good? what size were the tires. sounds like they good come good traction for street tires.

Who really hook up on street tires and turbo that runs 115+mph in the quarter mile.

With the same setup, I ran an 11.80@117 on 24x8x13 MT on Lensos.
I have a stock 96 ECU and 450cc injectors.
Stock motor, stock head gasket, 6th gen. EX coupe, full interior (2610lbs with me)

Default 60' times

The tires were a new BFG comp t/a which I believe are not yet available in the shops. The interesting thing is that the car ran on the same track in August with exactly the same setup except the tires, which were 17" street tires. Over about 10 runs the best time was 13.50 @ 108 mph, and the car was very difficult to drive (I did a few runs). There was a lot of wheelspin in 2nd and sometimes 3rd. 60' times were about 2.5 seconds. With the BFG tires the 60' times came down to 2.1, which is not super good, even for street tires, but there was a lot more traction and the car was much easier to drive. Derek.

Hi, don't mind me asking
are there any other stuff?
like what LSD
are the bushings changed?
What clutch is he using?
is the final drive changed?
cams? stock fuel pump? is that possible? wouldnt it be dangerous. is the FPR RRFPR?
sorry for asking so many questions, i own a civic w/GSR too, I live in Malaysia and drag knowledge here is weak. If I get the same setup, does that mean I can just use the same map setting? ie: less dyno time? we use 97 octane fuel here. thanks.

I consider 2.1 good for street tires unless they are street drag radials its a little different.. the comp T/A's they arent drag radials are they?

Stock Gearbox (meaning stock final drive)
Stock clutch
Stock engine (meaning stock cams)
Stock fuel pump
No rising rate FPR, just a 1:1

"If I get the same setup, does that mean I can just use the same map setting? ie: less dyno time? we use 97 octane fuel here. "
Yes, and yes.

Did you guys just finish building this car or something?
Because I, like DIRep972 find it very hard to find it that you guys ran a stock clutch in a 12sec car... And that it didn't blow up.....

Ok I have been wondering about something and this seems like the perfect post to put it in. My goal is to have a car that is capable of running 12's in street gear (17" wheels and tires and 93 octane gas) and full interior.. I just got my hondata and have yet to install it but wanted Doug's opinion on what I need to make this possible.. This is my set up:
1994 Integra LS
-RC 550 injectors
-Drag III Turbo Kit
-Eagles Rods
-JE 9.5-1 Pistons
-Bored 20 over
-Nu Formz Block Guard
-Thermal 3" Exhaust
-3" DP w/ no cat
-AEM Fuel Rail
-AEM FPR
-MSD 6al ignition and other MSD dist, etc
-Profec B

What else do you guys think I need to achieve this? Or can it be done with my current set up
