Default electric water pump

Just wondering if anyone has tried it, how easy it was, where they got it from, yadda yadda.... I know a B16A got 6fwhp from it, just wondering what you gained also... thanks.

I know summit has one by Meizner, I think the name of it is. It's supposed to give you 3-4 hp threw the whole rpm band. I think it cost around 349 for it. I know they dyno tested one for a teggy in superstreet or turbo.

Yeah, summit usually has some. They are expensive, but once you've done everything you can do to your car and still want more hp, it frees up like 4-6 for you, go for it if you have the money.

You gotta be really desperate for 4->6 hp to do this mod. Unless you have a purpose built drag car, this is just something else that can break.

The only real research I've seen done on this for the H22a is on this post, about halfway down the thread. http://www.preludeonline.com/showthr...threadid=30448

actually its called a Meziere water pump...camaros use them. they work, on a camaro they free up a consistant 10hp, not bad...they are better than the stock water pump, made of less pieces and are rated to work alot longer than the stock pump. They also flow more which keeps the engine cooler for less wear. its actually more of a cooling mod, not a hp mod...but for the camaros they are only $200, not $349, dang overpriced import stuff

I don't see why they aren't universal

trust me, it's worth it, in several ways. Also if you think about it, if you get all the mods that "only do 4-6 hp" more, they add up.

How do you create a "universal" water pump replacement when you have to create a different plate to replace the stock water pump for every engine? Let's be real here there is no way the plate for a Chevy 350 is going to work on a B16. I'm sure the pump is universal but you have to replace the water pump with somthing that will still allow the timing belt to work properly.
