ran the b20 last night, was lookin for 13's
I went hopeing to be in the 13.9-14.2 range but my LS ecu doesnt have enough RPM to keep me out of 5th gear. I would hit the rev lemit at around the 1000ft and ride it until I finished the run. I know, why not shift to 5th? everytime I would I would get a CEL (Map code) and my car would bog horably and run a 14.4@ 91. If I had more gear and better 60ft's I think I would have made it into the range i wanted to be at. Normaly on street tires I trap around 97.xx, Slips below
anyways tell me what you think? I'll prolly be boosted within the next month or 2. Enjoy

Re: ran the b20 last night, was lookin for 13's (VTECschmetec)
those are good times IMO for that swap.
itll be hard to hit 13s since your second 1/8th mile is only 5.3 seconds. That is a good indication of how your top end in 3rd and 4th pull and what ETs youll run with slicks.
Most Hondas that break into mid to high 13s run around a 5.0 second 1/8th with good 2.1 60s and faster.
To clarify, you subtract your 1/8 mile time from your 1/4 mile time to get that number.

wrong?
Anyway...great times dude...thats one decent B20 you got on your hands.

This car WILL hit a 13 if i have to get out of it and push it. haha
Tonight I ran a couple cars at the races in Richmond.
SS Camaro
-Ran once, His front was on my drive door. I won
SVT Mustang (Supercharged)
-Same as Camaro
built LS Vtec + 65 nitrous 4-door gutted 92-95 stle civic (BahBa's)
ran once, my checkegine code came on at beginning of second. He won by ha/f a car
LS Turbo 8.5 psi 91 civic hatch back (Big Black Chris)
Ran 5 times, I beat him by a car everytime.
Everyone ouit there thinks im spraying the hell outta my car I was like. If imma add somethig it will be a turbo. Not nitrous. My car had full interior, full tank of gas and I had "shitty" tires on haha.
As for the bumper. He took those pics wheN i went to run my car but got rained out. I have 2 bumpers, one that is LIGHT (in pic) and taped and one that is stock with a custom lip.

sweet man, sounds like the ss and cobra both had shitty drivers. but it is always different on the street. but as im sure 1000000 people in here who dont think it is "cool" or "safe" (not that im saying it is safe cause it is NOT) to race on the streets ill be one of the first to tell ya man. keep it on the track.

If I could make one suggestion it would be to run a taller slick size. Maybe around 23". That should keep you at the top of 4th gear going through the traps.
Nice set up. You've got a lot of potential. Keep it up and never let down. Good Luck!

Re: ran the b20 last night, was lookin for 13's (VTECschmetec)
I know i should be I used to race w/ chris years ago and the only way he would run me was if I ran those other cars first. thats we he wanted 4 rematches after i beat him the first time haha. I know i should keep it on the track, I always do. My car is a lil track ***** and i guess many of the people there need more seat/track time as well. I just had to go rip some stuff up and let chris know his turbo ls can get beat easily. haha
Street racing is gay, keep it on the track. I know i did it and have but you cant remark on something unless you used to do it or have done it once for a real opinion. out of 150-200 cars there, only me, tony and chris had real track time and experience under our belts. and that is scary. i prolly wont go anymore. I have better competion at the track anyways.

Re: ran the b20 last night, was lookin for 13's (chronodyne28)
nah, woundnt trade the GSR tranny for anthing els but an LSD ITR trann or LSD GSR tranny. Ive had too many friends brake B16 trannys. + 60mph @ 3k vs. 4k would keep me from getting an b16 at this time to.

sorry for the confusion. you take:
1/4 ET - 14.3
subtract 1/8 time- 9.0
equals 5.3 seconds for the second 1/8 mile
this is a number that i always look at when changing shift points and any tuning adjustments especially if your not tuned.
Like i said most mid 13 runs with slicks and a 1.8 60' shows about a 5.0 second 1/8 time. With a 1.8 60' youll be damn close to 13.9. Your second 1/8th time really wont change, maybe your trap speed.

I ran those times with full interior and the disadvantage of the CEL coming on so I had to ride the rev lemit in 4th. So Next time I go I'm going to a tad lighter and have my car 100% ready for the track. Last time was pretty much street trim.
But who knows. we will see how it will do i guess. Just wish me luck I wanna be one of the very few on here to pretty much just have i/h/e on a b20 and run a n/a 13 in an EG

Re: ran the b20 last night, was lookin for 13's (VTECschmetec)
oh and guess what I'm getting back. The Megan Weaver kit (my old nitrous kit) haha. I'm going to spray it until i get my turbo setup together and then I'm going to use it for purging the intercooler and maybe a small shot later on if i get around to internals. But anyways. Just lettin ya know the **** kit is goin back onto the b20 for the "3rd" time haha
