the wiring

here's one mounted in bezel. took me all damn day, oh well all works and fits now.
hey kyo babic, i ended making some brackets for it, plus its fits in there so snug it won't really move around. I had to cut a lot to make clearance for the hazard and dimmer and defrost switches. did you have to. thanx guys.

You must use a 90-91 civic "cluster hood" on the 88-89s. The 90-91CRX cluster hood will not work on a civic.

Re: (mawkiemarc)
i got mine on ebay for about $70. You can also use a 92-93 Integra GSR becuase those already have the MPH speedo and the 8000 redline. Mine has a USDM speedo for a LS teg.
If you guys really need i can put those pics back up. I just left the important ones, the diagram is the important one, the others just show me taping up the wiring.

I'm guessing the CRX HF wiring would be near identical. Did you pin the wires up like i show in that diagram? Also trace the printed circuit and you can see which wire goes to what light.

Cancel that question.
In the picture it looks like the fuel guage is blocked off a bit, any way to make it show for? just an eye sore that's all.

Use that diagram above, just match the wires into the integra connectors like i have shown in that diagram. I labeled which ones need to extend. If you make the connectors like that diagram it should work.

You could cut the bezel. It is easy to see if you just move your head to the left a little you can see the rest of the gauge. I like it because it matches the style and time period of the EF cluster but has a higher speedo, higher redline, looks much better, and light up a nice clean white at night instead of dingy yellow.

Re: 90-93 XSi cluster how to. (rjay8604)
actaully if i were you i would cut the bezel...u know the bits they use to cut out door *****? u can get sizes that are different. Go get one that is the same size or real close to those last 2 guages and cut out the other half moon of it..itd look real clean too. get a fingernail file, sand paper, or even regualr file and file up the edges where u cut to make it nice and smooth...i bet it'd look real sweet...
also, im getting a hydro tranny i notices someone said something about the VSS cluster and the cable cluster...ok well me haveing a cable cluster but a hydro tranny, how does this work? do i use the cable connector and just bolt it on the hydro tranny like the cable would??

Thanks for reply, also.. foremost, Thanks for the writeup and diagram.
I have read the other HowTo here: http://www.4thgenerationcivic.com/ho...ket-Custom.htm
I also noticed this on the page:
NOTE: I am installing an integra dash so I can't fully explain how to install the cluster in the stock dash other than you cant use the clear shield and you have to trim the hood and the inside of the dash to make it fit.
??

The cluster fits in real snug, the clear shield stays and fits real nicely. The one major problem is you need to cut two chunks off the bottom of the cluster to fit the hazard and dimmer switches. But the cluster wedges in the stock location rather easily and you just need to cut and remove a little material.
