Synchro Compatibility??
I'm in the midst of planning a slight build for my tranny. I wanted to know if I ordered the 3-4 synchro set from Honda for a b16 tranny if they will fit my gsr tranny because I get a better discount @ Honda.
I figured since it'll be down I'm going to go ahead and purchase either a Quaife or Type R LSD and the jdm 4.785 final drive set and throw those in @ the same time. I dont trust myself with tranny rebuilds yet so I'm having one of top tech's I work with @ Honda do the rebuild on the side for some $$ so it's done right. Any help with this would be great guys

Reason I ask is I have two F transmissions that are fine and two H22a transmissions that need some new synchro love.
Also does any one know how to get part numbers for just the synchros? I have seen pics in the ITR forum of the synchro sets (I think they are sold 1-2 set 3-4 set and 5and Reverse set). I would love to get my hands on some part numbers for these as it would make life much easier for me since none of the local stealerships parts counters can find said part numbers. Then again I also read that they only sell them seperate outside of the US, however this doesnt make much sense to me.
Here is the post I reference in the ITR forum of the synchro sets https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=463246
TIA for any help, I need to get this spare h tranny in good order!!!

Take a look at this side:
http://www.hondaswap.com/forum...29796
B18C5:
S80 (Helical LSD)
This transmission is one of the best B-series transmissions Honda has offered in its vehicles. Every gear has dual synchro's and the gearing is perfect for all motor applications. Plus, LSD is standard and will be stamped on the housing. Look to spend between 1200-1400 for these transmissions because of their quality, LSD, age and gear ratio's. Finally, if there is some question about whether or not you're S80 has 4.4 final drive or 4.7 final drive you can check the transmission housing. The code "4jhd" means 4.4 final drive was offered as original equipment, while "ne3" signifies 4.78 final drive.
Does it mean that I can put these dual synchros in my B16 hydro tranny.. I don´t think sop. Please tell me if I´m wrong

To the best of my knowledge, this is nothing more than a rumor. The 98 Helms manual shows dual synchro rings on 2nd gear (which is the same as the b18c1 transmission) and the same 3rd-4th synchro setup as the GSR box for the ITR transmission.
I have not taken an ITR transmission apart, only the GSR, but I believe they're basically the same except for the differential and gear ratios.
