Re: gm syncromesh, GM as in general motors (Devlins 91LS)
I used Royal Purple Manuel Transmission Fluid. It's a little cheaper than the synchromesh but seems to work just as good for me.

Just picked some up today at $9 a bottle. But when I got home I completely forgot about the Modified version. I just got the regular GM Synchromesh. Will this work as good? Thanks!

Do not use that Royal Purple stuff if you live in a colder climate. My buddy put some in his 300ZX and the tranny was SOOO hard to shift when it was cold. It was like someone put filled it with slime and it helped him kill the synchros. The sounds coming out of that and the diff were not pleasant.

Unless you are LSD equipped, then I would just use the regular Synchromesh.

No, BG Synchro Shift is he best, but it is super rare. We were lucky to find a local gut that sells it.

i do and that's all i recommend. it works better than anything i have ever tried and if comptech recommends it over any other fluid then iw ould have to say its a good choice. any gear oil that is 75w90 or higher is a bad choice. Redline MT-90 all the way.

Why don't you use Redline MTL, it's a 10w30 fluid which is what Honda trannies are supposed to use.

Re: (PatrickGSR94)
<---Jumping onto the "GM S.M. F.M." bandwagon...
I just finished almost 2 hours of "SpIRitEd dRIvInG" after replacing fairly fresh honda MTF with the Friction Modified fluid...
AMAZING! After only the last 50 miles of driving it has helped the stickiness I was having when getting into first/second from a stop, and it "quieted down" the weird clicking I had while launching or shifting into second/third.
Very smooth now, all the time... best $35 and 10 mins Ive spent
O.K, shutting up now...
