Joe,
Not exactly your rules...But since Matt and I had extended conversations about how "loosely" they were based on surrounding clubs rules packages, Here's everyone's pat on the back again...
Special thanks to NASA, PCA, M-Club, BMWCCA, SCCA and NESCCA for imput on the Honda Day rules package....
This also appears on the welcome letter and tech sheets...
If the weather holds off, this year should be outstanding..

Joe,
"loosely" indeed..
This format turned out to be the easiest to understand for this type of event...and makes it really easy to restructure the classes on the fly if the turnout in a partiular class is poor.
Hope to see you there..

I would really like to go to this, but there's enough thieves at englishtown on a regular day, I can only imagine how many there would be on a honda day. Have fun guys.

At the autocross side there are plenty of us who watch each other's stuff and LOCK UP our stuff. At the regular events like the Import Drags and such yes there are more problems.

I'll be there... Dunno if Ima race (it would be my first auto-x). Unfortunetely my mods would put me in class 1... Being that I've not yet raced on that kind of track, I think I'm going to just go to watch...

Ouch, that points system is killer.
My legally-prepped SCCA STX Type R would be running in Class 1 under that ruleset, and I'd still be on street tires.
4 points for a VAFC and only 2 for a header or intake? Heck, I could gut my car and only have 5 points
And the S2000 in the same class as the ITR to start out with? Yikes.

I believe normal gate prices are still in place....maybe if you get there early and help setup the autocross course, you may be able to get in for free... check http://www.autox4u.com

Todd,
I hope you weren't planning on coming! Not to deter you or anything, but our lot at Raceway Park isn't worth the drive from Ohio. Believe me... My wife's grandparents are in Hinckley and knowing Raceway Park as intimately as I do, you'd only be cursing the whole 500 mile ride home.
Also everybody, the weather is iffy in central NJ this time of year, so keep watching...

I gotta say this... In my opinion, the scoring system for the Super Challenge is weird. It should be a combination of one's best drag and autocross time added up, or added up and then divided... NOT what they have now. At the Honda event in August, I finished 4th in the autocross but last in the drags and still managed to finish near the back overall! This is regardless of the fact that I beat almost all the people in the autocross by a wider margin (average of 4-14 seconds) than they beat me in the drag (average of 3-5 seconds). Whatever.
As for paying just to watch. The Napps would charge their parents to get into that place how's that?
As for working the event, if you've never helped us before I'd contact Ernie A. ea455@optonline.net and ask him if he's got enough people. Jeff Y. and I will be helping him and Perry run things, but we intend on competing as well... So I personally don't want to be bogged down with questions and problems, especialy at the first event of the season for many of us.

No no, wasn't planning on coming. I just don't think the points system truly reflects the potential (or lack thereof) of some of the weight given to certain mods.
I've been keeping my eye on this and thinking how the SCCA could adapt a points system to SoloII, and while this is a good start, it does need some tweaking.
