Default So who says you can't boost a stock H22??

Since my replacement rod for my built motor is still 4-6 weeks out, I dropped a stock JDM H22 in my car for the time being. I just wanted to see how far I could push an internally stock motor. The motor is bone stock with the exception of ARP head studs and a stock thickness Cometic MLS head gasket. The motor is in a 2610 lb 1998 Civic DX. I ran 7.13 @ 100 through the 1/8 last Thursday and a 11.47 @ 123 on Saturday. All of this was done at 13 psi on 100 octane unleaded. The blue line is the same tune that I ran at the track. The green line is at 14 psi. The red line is at 14 psi but it leaned out real bad because my dumb *** didn't have enough gas in the tank. AFR ranges from 10.8-11.0 across the board. Timing is very conservative too, Darren at R&D Dyno laughed at me for being so conservative. Next is to run some C16 and more boost. I want to try to hit a high 10 on this motor.

Summary:
13 psi on 100 octane unleaded: 396 hp & 310.4 ft-lb
14 psi on 100 octane unleaded: 403.6 hp & 323.9 ft-lb
14 psi leaning out really bad: 411.3 hp & 330.2 ft-lb

Great numbers

Keep us updated on how long the motor lasts... so if anything goes or doesn't go I would like to hear it to use you as a statistic. (i'm not jinxing you, so don't take it like that)

I am also curious to hear your turbo and fuel set-up as well as EMS. How much boost will the motor be seeing while daily driven?

wow a h22 and still takes 6k rpms to spool up, that turbo must be pretty big. What turbo is it?

To this day (after 7 years of being in the Honda scene)... cars built like this one still continue to give me goosebumps - that is just one clean K.I.S.S setup making insane power.

Good job man.

3.5" Exhaust? Damn. This should be put in the file for all the people that say "2.5 inch exhaust is enough for a turbo". That big exhaust HAS to be one of the major contributing factors to making this much power.

Those are very nice numbers for that setup.

Where did u get the piping? Did it come with the greddy intercooler or did u custom fab it your self? Its very clean.

Very Very nice car. Just let us know next time you go to the track. The trubo he is using is pretty much the same turbo the AEM RWD civic uses well one of them at least. I don't know when he will be able to answer this so the piping was custom done at his work, but I don't know if he wants me to say where he works. Don't need no stinking blow off valve. All they do is leak boost and make noise hahaha.

The reason in boosting the stock motor is just to see how much it can take and if he can run a 10 on it. If it blows it blows no big deal.
