arp rod bolts install HELP!!!
i am taking apart my engine and replacing my rod bolds with some arp rod bolts.
arp says something about torqing them to 26 and in the honda book it say 30.
i thought it should be aleast factor specs...
What if i torqe them to factory specs?

go with ARP's specs. they are ARP's bolts not Honda's. go with the manufacturer's specs with all aftermarket parts not Honda's.

be sure to take it to a machine shop and check the rod, as the arp's can often cause the rod to egg shape because of the increased clamping pressure

Good Advice
Also be sure to torque and untorq the rods bolts 3-4 times

you will be fine
i recomend having the rod checked as well

how could that make rods egg shaped?

Torque them to 26 4 times ...put the whole factory spec thing outta your mind its wrong.
I have done them before without checking the rods and you definetly dont need to balace the bottom end for this
Good luck
