Question: if you did the early bird registration, would the registration be transferrable if something came up and you were unable to attend? - I'm not sure what, but you never know that far in advance.

Ok... please forgive my complete utter noobiness, but if someone was interested in starting out, thats not the schedule to look at right? I realize that most of those are races, but is HPDE like a driving school? Or do you still need a full blown race car for that. All I want to do is try it out as a change from autocross, but I can never figure out what some of the lines on these schedules mean.

Re: (Boilermaker1)
Early Bird entrants are given special benefits. In the event they cannot make it to an event they have signed up for, they can not only forward the fee to another event of their choice (or double up track time at a future event), they could also get 100% of their money back. Whichever they choose.
The schedule lists all of the events during each weekend. The HPDEs are for anyone very new to track driving (HPDE 1) to those who are experts, ready to time trial or get a competition license (HPDE 4). It also lists all of the sprint race and endurance events.
There's about 110 days till Nashville! Which is co-run by the Southeast Region BTW!

Glad to see you are running Mid-Ohio and Putnam each twice this year. My lapping day at Putnam is the weekend before your first M-O event and a month before your first Putnam so the car better damned well be ready by then. I am really looking forward to finally doing it.
I actually worked and made a little headway on the racecar last week...for the messy schedule that my life it, even a little work is a milestone.

It snowed and rained last April. I'll definately be getting a garage this year! Hope to see some of you out there next season.

Yeah, last year Thursday was a balmy mid-70s spring day, and come Friday, it began to rain. By the evening, a storm came through, and the temperature dropped about 30 degrees in the period of an hour, and for the rest of the weekend it was windy and about 32 degrees.
Hopefully it'll be warmer this year, as I plan on making the trek out there again.

Hopefully I'll have the funds and time to get to more of these next year.
Defintiely going to hit Mid-Ohio again, I want to try Putnam Park also (it's in Michigan right?).

Putnam Park it just west of Indianapolis. Its a great track with plenty of runoff on most corners. Great beginner track.

Hmmm...Don't know what track I'm confusing then.
A 4+ hour drive doesn't sound too inviting, unless I decide to sleep in the car overnight.

Putnam is only 3 hours from Columbus and the drive is easy. The tracks in Michigan are Gingerman (probably the one you are thinking of), Grattan and Waterford Hills

GingerMan! Yeah, that's the one I was thinking of.
3 hours with the time change.
I'd like to get to as many as possible this year, but Mid-Ohio and GingerMan are both < 1 hour from my two places of residency, so I will move those two to the definite list.

There is already a discount if you sign up early. The more events you attend, the better the discount.

Re: NASA OH/IN 2004 Event Schedule! (StageOne)
There used to be a HT discount if enough HT members signed up for one event. This is perfect for people like me who aren't going to be going to most of the OH/IN events (except for Mid-Ohio).

Re: NASA OH/IN 2004 Event Schedule! (John)
The discount available for webforum groups is 10% off if 10 or more members pre-register and attend the event. The 10% is given in future NASA OH/IN credit or cash at the track. This is not in addition to the early bird (for example if you enter multiple events and get 10, 15 or 25% off, the webforum discount would not tack another 10% onto that). However! We will allow early bird entrants to count as webforum entrants for counting purposes only. For example: Two H-T drivers enter through the early bird. It would only take 8 more H-T entrants at any one event to get the 10% discount for H-T entrants.
Let me know if you have questions, but that is how we will work it for webforum discounts.
