Default Why cant you put an intake on a 1.5?

Why when i look for intakes for a 1.5l, i cant find any? Is there some reason, or is it just no one puts intakes on 1.5l?

the intake manifolds on 1.5's have tiny openings... they will fit though... just get one of those rubberlike clamps from the rice section at autozone and tighten it until its snug on the throttle body

dont even worry about a intake for the motor the first thing you gotta get is lots of stickers.

yeah seriously if your just looking for the intake sound. You could just stick a cone on the end of your stock intake tube. my zc intake hose fit on my d15 intake no problem.

i have 91 hatch i custom made me an intake from some 3&4 inch pcv pipe from home depot took me about an hour to custom do it all and only cost about 50 bucks being that i spent the 35 on k&n filter. works good got it set up for short ram or cold air.
anyways thats just an idea save you the money instead of buying 200 aem intake

If you just want a badass sound, take your factory airbox out and cut a larger hole in it...doesn't add much power but is loud as hell.I've since done the MPFI swap and have an intake and it's quiet by comparison.I saw an AEM cold air intake on a CRX a while back that had DPFI...pretty crazy.

Just route a long section of PVC into the interior of the car for somne real noise. If you want, mount the filter end right by the dash vent outlet, turn the fan to 4 and it would be like forced induction!

Here's my setup for now. My buddy had an intake for a Ford Focus he didn't want anymore, so I took it off his hads for $5. I just chopped it and used the angle I needed from it to extend from the stock intake tube to the generic filter you see there. I painted the chrome bling tubing low gloss black for that OEM look too. It's good for a temporary fix. Actually, I'm gonna keep this sucka and buy an AEM filter...after I swap the good for nothing 1.5L...

Just buy an intake made for an 88-91 CRX/Civic Si, cuz it fits perfectly! Trust me, I gave my old intake off of my CRX si to my buddy when he still had his D15 in his hatch...it fit his bay better than mine did. Here's a pic of his old engine with the intake made for the D16a6...

I paid $20 for my cold air intake on E-bay. why pay $50 for a getto setup when you can buy something that doesn't look getto for far less.

my aem ended up fitting perfect on my d15 when i went back to stock...i'm assuming most aftermarket intakes you should have no problem except for on an HF...damn those tb's are small.

iif you just want the intake "sound" take off the bottom part of the airbox and use the screws to secure the filter onto it. thatll get you the intake "sound"

while my b18c1 was being rebuilt, i put an injen type-r intake (the big one) on my lil d15b7 del sol. believe it or not, it produced a rather significant improvement in power. the thing ripped after 4500rpm. hehehe. it was similiar to hitting vtec.

mengo_charged you shouldn't call the 1.5L "good for nothing"... Mine took 9 bottles of nitrous with a 75shot and never died, hell it never even killed a altinator, or anyhting stupid !!!

Ran 15.1 with a punched cat, MPFI, and insanely slipping 155K mile clutch.
The motor also had 155K miles !!!

My friend has gone though 3 A6's in the same amount of time, I was forced into a Z6 ( forced by the great deal I got on it ).

this guy has the rite idea. i would go ahead and get stickers for products that they don't even make for your car. like a NISMO sticker would be prime..

O.M.G. I've got it, first you gotta make swiss cheeze outta your airbox. then go to a local sticker shop and get a window banner that says. www.swissracing.com then its time for some spraypaint and a 3 foot aluminum wing from Kmart or wherever these things are coming from. that outta turn that 60hp wennie car into a furious beast with pavement pounding force.

Holy geeze, 9 bottles? Hmmm...that's pretty impressive with 150k mi on it. My buddy only ran 55shot and 2 bottles and it fawked up his Z6...runs like **** now...usta run 15.3 all motor, now it can barely run a 15.8. I just hate having a stock 1.5 in my four door...it's got 170k mi on it. Funds are next to nothing right now too.
