Stock:

annnnd now...

Satan's Dyno 11/18/03

Click for Video

Run 1 vs. 4 Baseline vs. No Balance Shaft Belt

Pretty obvious gains all around.

Some notes:

1) This was done with no fans, we didn't have time to set all them up, hurts numbers somewhat
2) With the belts off there is okay hp/tq gain, but mostly it's felt in acceleration. It's crazy how much faster the car accelerates, taking the drag right off the rotating assembly
3) My cams need to be set to 4500 look at the cam line, it's crazy how much midrange I will be able to pick up with more tuning.

2. Mods:
AEM CAI
64mm TB
Hondata IM Gasket
AEM FPR
RC 370cc injectors
TechTom P72 tined for my old motor
Apexi V-AFC
H22A1 head ported by Top Power Racing , valve deshrouding blah blah
Crower Stage 3 cams
Skunk2 cam gears
Jun Valvesprings
Jun Titanium Retainers
H22A4 Block
89mm LA sleeves
H22A4 stock crank balanced
Crower ProBillet H22A I-Beam Rods
ENDYN Rollerwave 11.89:1 pistons and rings
Stock Head Gasket bored to 89mm
Prodrive oil pump gears
Power Enterprise Super Strong Timing Belt
H23 manual tensioner
F20B Crank Pulley no PS
Removed A/C
Trust/GReddy SS Header
Random Technologies High Flow Cat
GReddy Power Extreme 2.5" catback
Clutchmasters Ultralight Flywheel
Clutchmasters stage 3 clutch
Accord Euro-R Transmission w/ LSD

3. Dyno - Dynojet 248c
4. Gear - Looks like 3rd from the video

Hi guys, I just got back from the dyno and I uploaded the data into Excel on my home PC. The plots are in JPG from below

The "no mods" curves was when I went up last year when the car was still stock. The "with add-ons" curve is with:
-Iceman cold air intake
-Mugen 4-2-1 Header
-Random Tech. High flow cat.
-Mugen cat back exhaust (twin loop)
-Apexi V-fac (I tuned it today at the dyno)

NOTE:
This was a MUSTANG dyno NOT a dynojet, the dynojets reads way to high (error) and the mustang it true power at the wheels. I also did all runs in 3rd gear so the power would be a little higher in 4th (slower excellerataion less power lost to excellerating parts). So I don't want to hear "I though stock ludes were better than 141hp at the wheels", Yes they are on a dynojet but NOT a mustang dyno, and not in 3rd gear. I wanted to tune the car in 3rd because that is were I spend most of the time on the track.

Hope this helps for anyone thinking about add-ons with what type of power gains to expects.

20% power gain, I'm happy

Dynojet dyno at inlinepro in VA
I believe these were 4th gear runs.
I want to try again with 16" rims but the next time it goes up on the dyno I think it's going to have cams in it.

jdm h22a with appr 85k-100k miles.
generic CAI
stock jdm p13
oem jdm header
2.25 inch test pipe
apexi dunk exhaust.
NX wet kit (runs 2 and 3)
i know it was a dynojet 248c and that is about it....also the pull was done in 4th gear, but the guy running the dyno cut off according to my stock tach NOT the dyno tach so my feeling is i had a few more horses left in the engine...

I have a .jpg of one of my better runs, but noplace to host it at this time.

I sold my latest Lude (2000 base manual) almost two years ago, but thought I could contribute to this thread. I really lost **a lot** of midrange power with the DC header, even after trying to tune it back in with my VAFC, so and cannot in good conscience recommend that header to anyone. Header made a whooping 1.6whp at the top.

At any rate, car had about 45k: AEM cai, DC CC header, Greddy SP cat-back, dyno-tuned VAFC, and an MSD 6AL (this did nothing but improve cold starts):

248C dynojet
175whp from 6800-7200rpm
139wtq from 5100-6400rpm

Car went 14.54@96mph with Azenis on stock rims with above mods.
Hope this info is helpful to somebody out there.

Don't have a dyno for him, but my friend that goes to school here got his setup done by Tempest down in Maryland. He's pushing around 380 at the wheels and is affraid to run it at the track for fear of breaking something lol. I wish I had his car!

The car is my 2000 Base Prelude 5spd. Both runs were done on the same Dynojet at DuPont Racing in Wilmington, DE. They were done aproximately 9 months apart, however the atmospheric conditions happened to be identical on both days. Both runs were done in 4th gear, because it is the closest to a 1:1 ratio.

Run 002 was done at ~11,000mi in April 2001. As delivered from factory. No mods.
Run 003 was done at ~22,000mi in Nov 2001. Mods were limted to only Mugen Header, Mugen Cat-back, and stock intake with removed resonator snorkle and a K&N drop in panel filter. All else is factory.

Actual Power

And the same two runs with SAE-Corrected Power

JDM H22

DC Intake, DC 4-2-1 header, Mut exhuast (apexi n1 from cat back to axel, axel back is custom 2.5, and magnaflow muffler). and VAFC.

3rd Gear pull.

I have no idea and neither does my mechanic where that spike came from, whenever we tried to smooth it out the motor fell on its face.

My dyno.

Skunk2 stage II's
SS high compression valves.
Skunk2 springs.
Skunk2 titanium retainers.
Skunk2 camgears.
Hotshot 4-1 header
Removed butterflied from intake.
Shortram intake
Hondata s200.
Dyno'd in 3rd gear.

As you may already know. I made a gasket that covered up the 4 "short" runners in the intake. So I am sure that this dyno doenst do justice to the way my car runs. I havent went back to retune since. It went 14.20@97 on 17" street tires @ 2700 with me. Imagine it in an eg hatch @2000 pounds even.

P.s. The full swap is for sale
