Default Chassis Codes....

I searched and read a few posts about it....but heres my ? The 96-2000's are generally referred to as EK.....but why does my vin Have the EJ in there? It would make sense that the 96-98's would be one letter earlier, just as the 92-95's are EG's. But then I've also seen people post that their 95 is a EJ. Anybody got a definitive answer?

Wrong. Every 96-00 USDM civic is an EJ, except for the 99-00 Si which is an EM1. "EK" is the designation for the 96-00 SiR and Type R Civic Hatchbacks in Japan, so since everyone on this board thinks that since they have a 96-00 civic they have a JDM B-series powered hatchback.

As stated above..."EG" is the designation for the 92-95 SiR Civic Hatchback in Japan, so since everyone on this board thinks that since they have a 92-95 hatch they have a JDM B-series powered hatchback.

However the USDM D15 4 doors (like myself) and some Del Sol's can refer to themselves truthfully as "EG's"

Tad ... everyone just refers to 5g hatches as EG's, when really, they are EH's. The only USDM EG's are del sols.

There should be one of these in the FAQ with like every car/chassis code/ecu code/engine/HP etc. That would be really useful.

Well well well...look what I found thru Google. It's the most interesting chassis code reference I have found yet simply because it has every icon picture of every car Honda has ever made, along with the usual stuff...chassis code, engine cc, year, etc.
