type r motor in a 91 si hatch (project completed)
I got my project done a little bit before nopi, and took it there.
I didn't pop the hood and didn't try to attract too much attention other than the burnout contest.
Here's the pics:
(I initially tried to go with the itr hydro clutch pedal and assembly, but the firewall was flexing too much... in the interest of saving time, I ended up getting one of the first hasport hydro tranny to cable pedal conversions.)
ABS installed.
Overall shot of the 5-lug and engine bay.
Closer pic of the engine bay.
.....what people who try to race me see.
Specs:
chassis - 1991 si (black)
motor - b18c5 from a 2000 itr (15k miles on motor)
tranny - hydro itr from a 2001 itr
wiring - full obd2 on entire car
ecu - p73 (stock itr ecu)
brakes - itr 5lug conversion at all corners
abs - itr abs, fully functional and operational
gauge cluster - stock usdm itr
wheels - crv steelies
intake - stock itr
header - custom hytech
exhaust - none currently
cams - toda spec b
valvesprings - toda
retainers - portflow Ti
cam gears - toda gen 2
engine management - apexi vafc
other - hondata intake manifold gasket (RACE INSTALL)
power output - 189whp/ 130 ft-lb tq
I don't have too many pics currently. I'll post more when I get a chance to take some in the daylight.

OMG
What booster did you use? Good thing you got the ABS in there, those brakes are overkill on an EG, I hate to think about the lockup on an EF. Awesome project

That Tranny mount looks like a prototype or something or was that HASPORT's actual first release of the Hydro kit, because mine is all billet. How come in that picture you are still using the hydraulic lines? I dont see any of the HASPORT cable to hydro LINKAGE.
I need to get some pics of my ITR swap on here.
My JDM B18c ( no # after C ) TYPE R motor with 4.7 Final Drive put down 196hp at the wheels running 16in ROTA Circuit 8's, Hondata S200, and the small *** AEM cold air intake made for the stock CRX engine. ( I had to use a coupler to have it fit the bigger ITR throttle body. The bottom end is stock and the head has never been off. I just added Skunk2 springs, retainers, and Stage 2 cams.
Props to you for installing ABS and 5-lug on a 4th gen. That booster and master cylinder makes my 3rd gen Prelude master cylinder upgrade on my CRX look puny! Hey at least Im running the JDM SIR front spindle and brake set-up. Your car must brake on a dime!!!
I'm sure you can pull higher HP numbers using a Hondata system instead of that V-afc.
Good Job!

I've got some 16" Prelude wheels for sale CHEAP that would look REALLY sweet on the 5 lug on your hatch...

I like it too, mine will never see that because it isn't clean enough to start with and I don't have the funds for that sweet motor either. Sitting here green with envy.

SICK! This is exactly what a Hybrid should be like, everything done right! How hard was it to make everything work?

Re: O MY GAWD
That's AWESOME! The ABS really works? REALLY?
What did you have to do to get that to work? Correct me if I'm worng, but don't you have to have the correct axles with the little speed sensors on them AND the knuckles with the speed sensor? How did you do this?

Very clean!
I've been following your swap for awhile. Interested to see how your guage cluster came out.

Re: type r motor in a 91 si hatch (Black R)
black R, you are my idol. i wanted to do ABS in my EK when I did my b18c5 swap and 5-lug conversion, but everyone told me I was smoking crack and that it would never work. then when I did my b17a swap into my wife's EF from the wrecked 92 gs-r I bought, I thought the same thing, and again I wussed out 'cause everyone told me I was stupid.
major props to you from me on having the cojones to accomplish a project like that.
oh, and how's your ground clearance with that 1.8 block and what looks like a JDM ITR 4-1 header?
