Doesn't Vortec (sp?) make something like this also?

Anyone running these, and if so, impressions on driveability/power?

costs about 3500 bucks. not too bad. I wonder how it performs though. 9-10lbs of boost for my motor may be a little too much though.

my question is 'how does it fit a ITR and a GSR?' and why was my title edited?

That kit looks really nice. I think I saw an ad for the Si kit a while back. Is this the kit that the blower/sc mounts beside the intercooler?

Is it just me, or does the piping diameter in the picture look tiny?

It says on the site that the pics don't show the actual kit.

another link

http://www.procharger.com/SPOR...shtml

and info:

With ProCharger technology, reliably adding big horsepower to your engine is a lot easier than you may think. Intercooled ProCharger systems utilize exclusive features and proven technology to deliver reliable 50-100% gains in horsepower and torque while running pump gas. For sport compact applications, these systems feature the revolutionary new C-1 ProCharger. The C-1 ProCharger is the first and only gear-driven centrifugal sport compact supercharger to feature self-lubrication, and contains the industryÂ’s most advanced technology. The C-1 shares many of the design elements which deliver the record-setting durability and performance of ProCharger competition superchargers, and is also street legal.

Advanced Design
The patented SC design eliminates the need for oil lines and punching a hole in the oil pan. Additionally, instead of being forced to utilize heated engine oil or the grease in sealed bearings, SC ProChargers are lubricated with an extremely high quality synthetic oil which is specifically engineered for high speed use, and produces the least frictional heat and parasitic load. The self-contained design not only eliminates the heat that is transferred to a supercharger by engine oil in oil-fed applications, it also avoids the risk of clogged supercharger oil lines, oil drainage problems, or engine oil leakage. By combining an advanced multi-patented supercharger transmission design with the highest quality oil, SC ProChargers produce a larger net power gain because they run cooler and consume less power than comparable oil-fed designs. This is also the only supercharger technology proven to repeatedly produce full-out race turbo levels of power.

are these the same design as JRSCs though? but the front mount intercooler could yeild much better gains...

I hate that damm belt slipping off or have to readjust due to stretching from weather temp on the JRSC ones. I wonder how this one on reliability with their belt.

Research on http://www.clubsi.com for GhostSI, which he is running this kit and with success! Or just IM "Joker" on this board for his good friends with the shop that worked on that particular car.

That is what I was saying. The blower is mounted under the car, on the drivers side.

Turbo on a stick!

I'd go with a properly sized turbo before a procharger or vortech kit.

Is there a general rule of thumb how much life forced induction takes off an engine?

None if it's tuned properly. I've got a full year of hard abuse on my motor and I haven't dropped an ounce of compression or leakdown. They key to a long living forced induction motor is proper tuning.

Also just a note for you guys that are looking for more midrange than topend... if you really want to go with an FI setup, the procharger and vortech kits really aren't going to do you very good being they do not make their peak boost until redline. They are laggy like a large turbo, and still belt driven.

Centrifugal superchargers definately work a little better on v8s than they do on 4 cylinder imports.
