I should have started this a long time ago...there's been a ton of people I've done business with, but I can't remember everybody's name and I never wrote it all down.

So help me out guys!

Bought Johnathan's 93 VX Civic.. wasn't exactly what I thought it would be when it arrived off the shipping truck. He never mentioned the respray of the hood/front bumper. He did mention that the radiator support needed to be pulled out though.

My feelings on the transaction are kind of mixed really. He went the extra mile to do some things, like order a carpet and have it sent to me (which isn't here yet) and sent door panels too, even knocked 100 bux off the price because he couldn't get panels/carpet put in before sending it.

The description of it was a little off... like I said, mixed feelings.

P.S. Just found a gas leak too.. Air conditioning needs to be recharged when ad on HT said ice cold.. it was a relative term I guess.. colder than it is outside at 95 degrees??? Car keeps dying on me occasionally.. gas leak is so bad that I'm at 270 miles after filling it up and it's on 'E'. That's like 30 mpg from a car that gets 45-50 mpg.. Alot of dents on the car, carpet still hasn't arrived.. front pass. side driver light doesnt like up.. brake light out.. all these things were never mentioned to me. I told him I was on a tight budget but he failed to mention any of these small and even decent sized fixes that are gonna cost me some of my college financial aid tuition to fix em.

BIG , I was in between but now I'm pissed. When we discussed the carpet issue, he said he'd order an pre-molded set and ship it to me.. I expressed concerns because I heard that they won't fit right.. he said.. "No, the fit perfectly.. I used them in two of my previous cars.. then I search and find this.. wtf? https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=702258 On top of everything else about the car he didn't tell me.

I don't know where to start with this. When you got the car, you IMed me and said you liked it. You inspected the car, and aside from the radio not playing one speaker you said you were happy overall.

The only thing I heard about was you freaking out over the title reading 'odometer excempt', even though that's standard in TX for cars over 100K or over 10 years old.

Then randomly over the next few days as you 'found' stuff you didn't like you started to get mad I guess, and instead of telling me you just start posting in my vouch thread!?

What about the car did I NOT tell you about? You saw all the pictures

A freakin BRAKE light out? C'mon man.

Dents....I told you the car had dents, and even pointed them out.

A gash on the underbody? You should probably talk to the shipping company about that.

Light not lining up...well, if the radiator support is slightly tweaked, you should expect that considering the mounts are part of the support. On top of that, you told me your brother or somebody owned/worked at a body shop and that bodywork wouldn't be a problem.

As far as your 'gas leak'.....again, not my problem and I have no idea about any of that. I drove the car over 50 miles every single day, I always check my mileage and never once got under 40mpg with the air on full blast. On top of that, the car never once died on me.

Did you pull the codes? Was anything stored? I guess maybe I could have reset the ECU to clear everything out when I met the trucker to have the car shipped

Like I told you, 'ice cold' is a relative term. The air worked perfect for me, and I, as well as anybody that has ever ridden with me, would describe it as ice cold.

I also informed you that I checked the air when I got the car and before I sold it, with a thermometer in the center a/c vent and each time it was within the specified range, in contrast with the ambient outside air temp.

As soon as I handed the keys of the car to the trucker, any new problems are not of my concern (gas leak, gash, possibly the brake light that is of a huge concern for some reason).

I clearly listed all the problems that I was aware about in the for sale thread, as well as duplicated in our conversations on AIM.

Now, as far as the carpet. I've had about 15 cars in my lifetime, and replaced the carpet in a lot of those. Some of the cars the carpet fit good in, some of the cars it didn't fit good in.

I talked to my upholstery guy about it and he said that's because APC changed the mold and the ones that fit good were probably of the later mold.

You didn't even say HALF of this crap to me. I see you on AIM all the time....is it that hard to shoot an IM and express these concerns? Or even send me a PM on here?

You know, guy, you bought a used car. You can't expect to blame every single problem on me.

At what point does any new problem become your responsibility? This would include things like the car dying, and this 'gas leak'

I IM'd you saying that it wasn't what I was expecting (because it was described alot better than it really was), and the reason why I was even remotely alright with the car was because all these other things weren't showing up at first. I washed the car when it got here and saw way more dents on it then you said. WAY MORE. You didn't even mention that the hood/front bumper were a DIFFERENT COLOR than the rest of the car. ON TOP of that, you failed to mention it was in an accident, woulda been nice to know.

That's true, and I freaked out because in AZ we don't have that.. try to have some understanding, thanks.

I saw the pictures, yea.. but I also asked for pictures of the title, pictures of the interior in the other cars that got this ACC carpet you said would fit "<U>PERFECTLY</U>"

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">A freakin BRAKE light out? C'mon man. </TD></TR></TABLE>

Not a big deal, but still.. mention it.. I doubt it just got like that over the transport time..

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Dents....I told you the car had dents, and even pointed them out.</TD></TR></TABLE>

You told me about the fender being messed up which was easily seen in the pictures, and the dent on the back hatch door. You failed to mention the big dent that is about 6-7" long behind the driver side door, as well as many dents over on the passenger side.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">A gash on the underbody? You should probably talk to the shipping company about that.</TD></TR></TABLE>

The gash wasn't from the shipping company unless you put it on the truck and it happened then because it didn't happen when he was getting it off the truck.

Yea, my brother does work at the body shop.. and he said that the radiator support would need to be completely replaced, not just "pulled" out.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">As far as your 'gas leak'.....again, not my problem and I have no idea about any of that. Oh, that's right.. musta just magically appeared as it got off the truck. Well I plugged the leak with an epoxy seal and guess what.. with nothing but highway driving and not getting on the gas whatsoever, I got 37 mpg.. with the air on for maybe 25 miles of driving.. wth is with that?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Did you pull the codes? Was anything stored? I guess maybe I could have reset the ECU to clear everything out when I met the trucker to have the car shipped </TD></TR></TABLE>

The car isn't throwing any ECU codes.. but it is idling really low.. and stalls out frequently.. another problem that must of happened from sitting on the shipping truck.. hope those Porsche Cheyenne's don't get the same problems!! OMG!

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Like I told you, 'ice cold' is a relative term. The air worked perfect for me, and I, as well as anybody that has ever ridden with me, would describe it as ice cold. </TD></TR></TABLE>

Relative.. nice.. how about giving a term that is more exact.. when I sell a car, if that air doesn't make you start to shiver, I don't call it ice cold.. I call it just cold.. btw, you wanna pay me back for the money to get it recharged? I didn't think so..

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I also informed you that I checked the air when I got the car and before I sold it, with a thermometer in the center a/c vent and each time it was within the specified range, in contrast with the ambient outside air temp.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Again, refer to the last comment. And AZ weather differs from TX weather..

Course not, because you got your cash and got rid of your car.. why would they be your problems? Your walking away with 2100 in hand.. I wouldn't have any more problems either.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I clearly listed all the problems that I was aware about in the for sale thread, as well as duplicated in our conversations on AIM.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Actually, if you wanna get so technical.. you never mentioned in the for sale thread that it had a bent rad. support, I found that out in AIM.. &lt;shrug&gt;

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Now, as far as the carpet. Oh, so telling me that your last two car carpets fit perfectly, and now adding this statement in kinda contradicts each other, but wait.. the car is already paid for and in my hands, so I guess it's ok to tell me this now.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">You didn't even say HALF of this crap to me. I see you on AIM all the time....is it that hard to shoot an IM and express these concerns? Or even send me a PM on here?</TD></TR></TABLE>

I sent you msgs, you hardly replied, and when you did.. it took you forever.. hell, I got a life.. I gotta take this car out and have it stall on me, get replacement parts for it, and goto school 3 days a week for 6-7 hours of the day as well as work a part-time and guess what.. you show up less online now than you did when you were trying to sell the car..

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">You know, guy, you bought a used car. When someone lies or doesnt divulge things and when it arrives it's got alot of things that were never even hinted at wrong with it.. who should I blame it on? Oh wait, that's right.. the shipping company because they would record everything wrong with it.. maybe you should of recorded it very detailed for my benefit.. guess you were to busy counting the 2100..

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">At what point does any new problem become your responsibility? This would include things like the car dying, and this 'gas leak'</TD></TR></TABLE>

Oh, because I can spot a gas leak in the car when the tank is on 'E' and I can tell the car is dying from getting it the first day and not getting a chance to go out in it.

I told you about the car dying the day I started to drive it and notice it..

Anything else? I'm surprised you even cared, you walked away with 2100.. not bad for yourself..

Alright, what will make you happy?

The gash, I wouldn't know. I watched him load the car from inside another car, and I wasn't particularly close to see what was going on.

What I can tell you, however, is that he tried to load the car, realized he wasn't lined up right after he was halfway up, and backed way up to get in position. He could have scraped something when this happened, because he wasn't even close to getting the car on the ramps right. Maybe you should talk to the shipping company about this.

Radiator support, I had two different quotes from reputable body shops. Both of them said it could be pulled out. If I can find the estimates, I'll mail them to you.

As far as the dents I did not tell you about, or the radiator support I did not tell you about... Or anything else. Look at my post (3/12/04). I listed all of that stuff, and more, in direct response to you asking what you're getting yourself into [to which your next response was 'does it drive straight? Won't give me any problems?' and then 'Stop advertising it!', at which point I did]:

"okay, honestly, I'm not good at descriptive writing.
I tried to be as thorough as possible in my first post.

The car needs:

Corner lights. Driver side fender liner. Passenger side fender. There's a dent behind the drivers door on the 1/4 panel that you can see if you look closely, a dent on the tailgate that I circled. Needs the radiator support pulled out slightly (does not rub or interfere with anything as-is). Like I said, the body shop said it wasn't a problem at all. All 4 wheels have been aligned, and they are all within spec.

Other than that, the car pretty much just needs paint and some body work up front.

The interior is in good shape except the doorpanels and the carpet. Even has the cargo cover.

I can get new carpet, but it will probably be ACC or a custom job from a shop. I can also get the doorpanels.

However, I don't want to shell out a couple hundred bucks to get the carpet work and doorpanels done if somebody decides they don't want it....because I drive it as-is and don't even think twice about it.

Tell me what exactly you want to see, and I'll get pictures of it."

It's not like you ever posted and told you me you wanted to see detailed pictures of anything in particular. Don't blame a lack of thoroughness on me.

Also, common sense would tell you that if the radiator support is tweaked, there's a reason for that. It's not like it just randomly happened by itself. As far as a wreck, I have no knowledge of an actual 'wreck'. The previous owner told me they ran into a curb or something. That's not really the same as a head on collision. I trusted them, and when the bodyshop told me the radiator support wasn't a problem, I thought nothing more of it.

So, again, what will make you happy? I wish I could afford giving you a refund, but I can't.

Don't act like I scammed you and made a profit. I lost over $500 on this car, it's not like I was running to my room counting the cash and giggling like a little girl at your stupidity when you wired the money.

I'm sorry you are so unhappy with your purchase. I was being as thorough and honest as I could be, and I'm sorry that wasn't enough. This is for sure the last time I'm dealing with anybody out of state.

Chris, PM me and we can talk about trying to make you happy.

I'll PM you when I get a chance today.. class just got out and I need to get ready to head to work. I'll get home around 6ish hopefully, traffic willing.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">The gash, I wouldn't know. I watched him load the car from inside another car, and I wasn't particularly close to see what was going on.

One last thing about that.. I can't contact the company now because I signed for the car.. stupid on my part but the underbody never really clicked in my head to check when it arrived. But, since the car is still in your hands technically when it's being loaded, it would of been a generous courtesy on your part to make sure things went smoothly when loading it. Maybe you didn't think about it just cause, or maybe because you didn't care anymore because you got the money.. I dunno, fact is.. it would of been a common courtesy to do so.

Fact is, your shipping company sucked donkey *****.

I waited for two days for them. I skipped all my classes one day because he told me he'd be in town that day and I didn't want to miss him.

When he did get into town, he didn't even call me before hand to let me know he was on his way [like he was supposed to do]. He just called and said he's on so-and-so street (instead of coming to my house), and expected me to go meet him. I wasn't even home at this time, because it was almost midnight.

I signed the car over, asked him if there was anything else he needed from me, went home and went to sleep. I was tired of dealing with an incompetent moron.
