Proper length of cat required for JDM header + USDM exhaust?
What is the proper length of car require for a 2.5" JDM header to mate up to a USDM ITR length exhaust?
Should it be the same length as the USDM cat?
Should it be the same length as the USDM cat?

That is not what someone else told me. Can I get a third opinion?

The cat you want is about 17.5" long. It is shorter than the cat used with the USDM stock header and the stock exhaust.
Send SMSP an IM and he can tell you the part number and/or exact length you need.

The USDM cat is 17.5" and is too long for JDM header to stock ITR bpipe connection. My carsound cat is around 16.5". USDM header is shorter then JDM header therefore you need a shorter cat to mate up a JDM header and Stock ITR bpipe.

If you get the right carsound you can bolt up a JDM header to JDM bpipe. You will need a 12" cat though because JDM bpipes are longer from cat to resonator. Trust me I know all this cause i just went through all of this stuff and did measurments.
Jdm Header to USDM B-pipe : 16.5"
Jdm Header to JDM B-pipe : 12"
USDM header to USDM B-pipe : 17.5"
Tommy your car is a type R right? Cause these measurments are from my Type R and from my experiences. I dont know if they will be correct if you have another model Teg.

The cat I got from SMSP measures 16.75".
Been running it for a year now. But I measured another persons SMSP cat and it measures 17" so that is why I'm asking.

I'd like to add to this.
Does anyone know the length of the cat needed for a JDM 4-1 and the new T1R catback? Is the T1R catback a "jdm" exhaust or is it made for USDM spec?
Thanks all.

Thanks for the quick replies guys.
I just bought a 17.5" resonated test pipe off of a fellow H-T member, now will the extra .5 inches throw the setup off at all? I mean, I can't imagine that .5 inches will make a drastic effect...or should stop being impatient and get it cut and welded .5 inches shorter?
Thanks.

So are these the right measurements for the JDM and USDM cats for sure? I'm about to get a Spoon header and I will be fitting it to my USDM B-pipe.
I just want to make sure to get the right length of cat to make it work.
Thanks.
