Default Anyone else STILL waiting for Jon at The Drop Shop?

I'm sorry to start up again but since I have tried calling and sending emails with no response from Jon, I feel I have no choice but to make sure I'm not alone.

I will leave the name-calling and slandering out of my post. But know that it is getting VERY HARD to stay professional about this 8 MONTHS LATER

Yes, I am still waiting. I haven't even seen a picture of it..He was responding good up until the beginning of June and know I can't get a hold of him. I'll talk to other people there and they say I need to talk to Jon. That happened twice. I happen to be a travel agent and I'm about ready to just hop on a plane and see for myself what the status of my order is.

Oh, and thanks for the offer...I really appreciate that. If it comes to that, then so be it. At least I'll have something.

I'm having a hard time getting a hold of him also. He owes me a resistor box.

Edit: Maybe his email is down?

If these items are already paid for, then sounds like it is time to file a police report. This could definately fall into the "fraud" category. I get really annoyed at businesses that that don't handle my money or merchandise properly.

you know whats kind of funny is i talked to jon and i was willing to pay the 175 to buy the program but he put me off and told me i needed to wait for the updated version.

so this is the really funny part. there are two progz out there the erom and the erom with boost. the difference between the two is the erom with boost doest have a save feature

i personally work in IT and so do a lot of my friends so one night pist off with frustration i start talking to a buddy, one of the types who sits in his room all day and thinks it is extremely fun to hack windows and give out photoshop for free on the web with a hacked key code, well anyways he tells me it would be a fun prodject to hack the erom. so i give him the two progs and 3 weeks later there is a majical save button on the boost prgram.

i love that guy

shitty thing is i already went to AEM EMS so i really have no need for the jondata editor anymore but i was thinking that i should just take the dropshop logo out of the program and post it here for everyone to have for free.

the evil mind of a hacker is awsome , as long as they stay out of my bank account

here is to my friend the evil hacker who battles non sharable programs

I am in Florida and he is in New Hampshire...But as I said, I am a travel agent and can make my way up there if necessary...I'm hoping it DOESN'T come to that.

Kommon_Sense,
I am close to that point but I consider myself to be a very generous and understanding person. And since these are not the last pieces of my project, I'm not going to fly off the handle. That would get me nowhere. But yes, his time is running out and I'll be forced to seek legal help.

And you put me down for slandering Jon, but look what happened? Everyone that ripped on Jon on here, got their manifold. Look what happened to the "nice" people, he walked all over you guys.

That may be true..Unfortunately...And believe me, I have thought about your point long before this. But I still won't resort to those tactics and let that change my character. That just isn't me. I should have just hired you as my personal spokesman

Blake's boost code is already open source for private parties who can make use of it. That seems to be a sum total of ten ppl on PGMFI who know enough assembler to figure it out.

If you can't master writing a ******* VB tuner applet for your own private use in under four hours, then you are a pathetic waste. It'd probably take longer to hack the current flawed version of ERM/Uberdata. Why don't you wait for the next version Blake has in the works to try to pirate?

A lot of you foolios are playing with IP ban on this forum, as Art has already made his stance on pirating or passing around ERM quite firmly. I can personally take it upon myself to extend that ban to PGMFI, homemadeturbo, both Hybrids, and a number of other forums - don't really know yet, haven't asked, but I imagine my reach in this matter extends pretty far.

i guess you are right, but considering all that it would be pretty easy just to hide our ip or reroute it threw a proxy server if we really wanted to.

all i was really getting at is the fact that you guys have this great software that alot of people could use and you kept it locked away and act like the gods of chipping. thats fine, i dont care because like i said eralier i am using the EMS anyway. to me it is more of a challenge just to crack the software to see if it could be done.

as a by product a freeware version could be made. i find it hard to beleive that anyone on here has not used some type of pirated software, computer, part for the car, or movie of sometime. only my opinion and i think some might agree with it.

after looking at the prog coding it would be easier to make our own erom boost prog and publish it as freeware. just think i could be a the linux and you guys could be microsoft

Yep, but it's a hassle, and sends out a message.

Dude, most of PGMFI hands out their secret snippets of code and programs to anyone who participates and cares to learn. Your entry price to the great software you referr to is a good attitude and a ******* halfassed attempt at learning. Most programmers need guinnea pigs due to the vast variety of setups and engines, and hook you up.

Not based on Blake's code.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">after looking at the prog coding it would be easier to make our own erom boost prog and publish it as freeware.</TD></TR></TABLE>

You evince a lack of understanding. Boost tuner app versus NA tuner app is not difficult - same damn thing really, it's the actual knowledge of and modification of the Honda code that is the hard part. Most those guys are/were hand assembling until recently.

You want to be linux vs mickeysoft? Crack boost code independently.

i didnt say all that to get into an arguement. in my thoughts the more people who have ideas and mods to add to the app the more diverse it can become. thats it. to me if more the just ten people of the secret society work on making there own versions then a better editor could be made. compitision brings forth the best product. in no way was i trying to start a pissing contest and hose down the track with testoterone

Not exactly.

I currently have on hand 35+ ECUs, not counting the additional ten that belong to other people. I purchased those with my own money. Everything I know about them, I *worked* for.

Everything I have sold has been on a hookup basis at hookup prices in very small quantities, but if someone who works half as hard decides to make a business out of their knowledge - be it Blake/Uberteg or Doug and Derek of Hondata - then I feel obliged to defend their intellectual property.

You want to crack a piece of software? Go fiddle Hondata's ROM Editor and code to work without the interface box. It is a much more complete and refined application, shouldn't be any harder than ERM/Uberdata to modify, and fits under what you percieve to be fairgame. I also think that Hondata has enough money and clout to track you down and send you to federal pound-me-in-the-*** prison (not to mention the civil suits) regardless of what you think your justification is.

I'm not really mad at you, I think you're probably an alright guy, but you don't have any idea how hard some of us work at this stuff. Your disregard to me + others is painful. If you see our hard work at free/hookup/cheap prices, wtf are you bitching for?

FYI, I have all current Uberdata softwares, in verified working order, and ability to generate you a serial number if Dropshop is lagging + you have paypal reciept or proof of purchase you han email me. I *do not* sell the tuner app - most of the actual hands on tuning, feedback to Blake, and all the nifty P06/P28/P30 basemaps are coming from me. I offer free tech support on my own time. Why? I dunno, maybe the gods of chipping answer prayers?

you act as though i haven't put hours of unthankful work into trying to learn and read everything i can. getting pissy customers who dont understand there is more to tuning a car then just bolting on an intake. being at the track time after time in 100+ weather trying to hit the next time.

my only thought here was why not share the wealth. if my friend and i are able to take apart the erom boost prog and rebuild it in outr own way and then give it out for free then why shouldnt we. im sure there are people all read working on the hondata setup. i all ready have a buddy who has built his own interface box for a p28 and is getting the rom editing software to interface with it. i agree with you i am a nice guy and from all the post i have read from you, jdavis, on this form and others i can tell that you are as well.

all i am saying is when i finish with my own prog it will be free and i will share it with everyone not a limited few who have proven themselves to me or a friend
