Damn... I need to you your homie fly out and do my DA like that. Since mine is my daily driver, it's looks like the first pic and I'm too lazy to go through your 12-steps-to-happiness process .

it's very simple man...
just cover/wrap your distributer up with a plastic bag, and then duct tape it so it doesnt slide off....do that for you air filter too....
if you allow the dizzy to get wet, bad things will come

3 day-off list to-do
1. pick up new engine for the 98 civic
2. detail my 95's & 92's engine just like the one in the picture
3. find out why the hell my 92 keeps cutting off @ 3rd gear 4800 RPM's when boost occurs

Re: How to get your engine bay spotless (poison)
Gunk can be found at most car part stores. I bought mine at Kragen for cheap. This process works really well, but i little scrubbing wouldn't hurt in some places. Only thing i didn't like about Gunk was the horrible fumes...felt like i was going to pass out
Simple Green is also a great cleaner.
And yes cover the dizzy, air filter and alarm horn (if you have one)

that gunk stuff can be found at autozone and is relatively cheap, the trick to all that is to use the foam spray, thats what gives it the brand new appearance
