Default turbo update pics 56k go elsewhere

Getting closer, did a little research and decided to go with a friends suggestion on what they use on domestic drag cars....

As you can see it gives lots of room by moving it closer to the front of the car.

Also shot a pic of my filter a nice REAL Hks mushroom, this was an ebay intake off of an 87-89 crx, works great, nice 3 inch tube.

Last a pic of the intercooler actually mounted.

For those interested the radiator is off of a VW scirocco 86-88. http://www.performanceradiator.com has them 136 shipped, just need a filler neck and a plug becuase these radiators have a sensor in them for a fan switch.

Hope to have it running by this weekend, I'll keep you updated!

NICE. I always wondered if there was a cheaper radiator than the neon one. Is the radiator the domestic trick you were talking about? And what type of i/c is that? Awesome job on the coolers!

Hmmm nice. I was always wondering if there was a factory radiator from SOMETHING that was about the same size as the condensers in our cars...

Nice setup.

This radiator is very common from a 86-88 VW Scirocco

Dimensions are 26inches wide by 12.5 inches tall. I drilled holes in the lower brace for the tabs to go into and bingo it fits great, have a slim fan on it now, will have more pics soon.

As for boost levels I'll be running about 7 lbs on stock internals. Safe and sound for now, just wanna get it running and make sure all the little things work.

Thanks for the words of encouragement, I've done all this myself and its gonna pay off soon (knock on wood)

Anyone else use this radiator ? I'm thinking about using it with a pusher fan, since I don't have a "front impact beam".

I found the rad. for $65 with a 6 month warrenty for a junkyard...

I'm a noob when it comes to boost, but I'd like to boost the b series. Is there a link to learn about it?
What's the cheapest, but best way to dive into the forced induction?
And I'm going to try to keep my a/c which will probably not be cheap.

Link to learn about boost

Just hang around those forums for about two months and you'll be good to go. They tend to cover the high-end questions so it takes a long time to figure out the simple stuff

A lot of manis will let you keep your A/C. If you want a hardcore mani and want to keep A/C get a sidewinder. HyTech makes them, Tinker219 makes them, Full Race makes them, a lot of people make them.

I like it, and I like the radiator placement. You should see the silly crap that I had to do with my PWR to get it to fit at all. My only concern is that you now dont have a hood latch with that core support piece removed. How do you keep the hood down? Hood pins only?

My friends greddy kit uses the A/C still, but it is a huge tangled mess !!! Which is one of the reasons I'm going to get this radiator when I swap the TD04L-13G for the BIG 60-trim garrett, he had to use a screw driver to move is O2 wire !!! Plus b/c the a/C system is so cramed in there, the manifold heat burnt thought the A/C line... Now he has no A/C, and a mess..
