I'm lookin to go turbo on my car and want to know the most cost efficient way of getting it done. Any suggestions? I've heard people of piecing a system together for less than a kit but I don't want any problems.

Is there anybody that can DRAG3 kits for 2800?

if you can weld or have a friend that can weld you can put a kit together for under $1000.

turbo integ 95 is right.....
if you are peicing a kit together think dsm turbo's ,smaller and more affordable. you can get them from junk yards(its not that bad because you get to see the turbo, hands on) check dsmtrader to get an idea or there worth.

dont go cheap on the fpr,and wastegate-- get a tial or hks....its worth it! 230.00 or so..
get something like a starion IC(one of the largest stock intercoolers i have seen, 150 for that is fair)

basicly under 1000 seems very possible to do but upgrade as soon as the time is right

Go to the Junk yard get a turbo off a Thunderbird coupe, get a manifold, Jun made one for the GSR, (I still have one I used for 6 months, before going tubular). A Starion Intercooler is good, the only thing is to get the plumbing, get the mandrel bends and have someone weld them up for U, U will need 4 or 5, that should take care of the plumbing, It will also be enough for the downpipe. BOV, U might be able to pick one up from Parts Trader or another online entity. U will need check valves and an adjustable FPR. and that basically sums up the necessary parts, Anything else anyone?

HKS makes a cast T25 manifold for our cars cheap... options sells them for ~$260... then get a T25 off an eclipse with starion intercooler... you could put that kit together cheap! it wouldnt be the fastest, but it should do pretty good

No T25, use a DSM turbo. You can get the TD05-14B from the 1st gen cars as cheap or cheaper than the T25 and they're MUCH better. They all use the same flange anyway.

It's all about getting the T3 from the old thunderbirds because they will actually be decent. you can make a manifold for cheap if you have the resources. you can buy a new vortech FPR for around $110 and get a new tial for around $220. everything else just get used.

You could also buy a used drag kit, there are tons of em on partstrader. If you are careful and a smart shopper you can pick up an almost new kit for half the cost of new.

im thinking to run bout 6-8 psi , will i be able to use my stock pump ?

no way on the stock pump! you should always get a better pump when planning on adding a lot of power! it isnt worth the $100-$200 a good pump costs to risk blowing your motor, is it?
