Pics of the FAL rear window install...
I'm getting really close to having the hatchback all finished. The only thing left to do is paint the dash. I took a few pictures of the FAL rear window install.
They reccomend in the instructions to permantley fix the window leaving the hatch useless. In road racing or autocross you want safety workers to be able to get inside the car if necessary, so I made my window operable by using two Dzus fasteners.
My rear hatch has been gutted so there is not lock mechanism any more. I had to add latches to keep it closed.

thats a nice window, in the last pic it looks like the gap is crazy, does the gap look big in person?

That looks good, but is the gap really that bad? That might be something I would look into buying, but only if the gap was a lot smaller. Also, what about the rubber weather stripping around the sides....does that FAL window retain that?

how is the weight reduction in that window? i was thinking of getting the full kit but last time ive seen it it was going for 500+.

What's the window made out of? Lexan? I heard those windows scratch easily, like the Sportscars have in sportscar racing (ALMS, Le Mans, etc.)

The window is similar to Lexan but far more scratch resistent.
As for the fit, the window is exactly the same size as stock. I measured it. I am not running the rubber weather strip expect on the bottom side.
