how to install a momo/spoon streering wheel and hub
i also installed a spoon/momo steering wheel lastnight
**make sure you have your steering wheel locked and straight so the aftermarket wheel will be in the same position as your stock one**
1) remove negative from the battery. i took out the fuse for the SRS to unactivate the airbag
2) remove the steering column covers with a philips screw driver. there are 4 screws on the under side the the covers should unclip right off.
3) below the arrow shows where the t-30 torx screw (i believe) is to remove the airbag/ steering wheel cover assembly. the green plug right below is the cruise control, just unplug that also.
below is a pic of the airbag/steering wheel cover assembly off. as you can see there is one yellow plug for the SRS "airbag". just unplug that and your airbag is disarmed. there are also two wires running along the bottom of the cover if i remember correctly it is blue with red line. those are for the horn, also unplug these. then the whole airbag/ steering cover should come off
after you have removed the airbag/ steering cover. this is where you remove the 17mm nut that holds the whole steering wheel. this is the only thing that holds it.
after you have removed the nut.. you have to pull the steering wheel evenly on the left and right side. now it should look like this. the piece that are in those hands is the piece that allows the horn connection to spin freely and any other electrical devices on the steering wheel. you will also have to remove this piece.
after removing everything, bolt on the new hub after you have assembly the pieces of the hub together. reuse the 17mm nut. that's all you need. then use the little allen bolts to mount the steering wheel on to the hub.
then pop in the center horn button on and that's it
*****note****
could not figure out how wire up the horn without getting the wires tangled. i'll have to figure it out some other day. these instructions are mainly how to remove an airbag wheel and mount an aftermarket steering wheel.

Hey, aren't you from cali? what are the legal issues with taking out the airbag over there? I think in chicago, they check for that during emissions test as a visual inspection or something...and you can get introuble for that...i'm not sure...just wondering...but I'm sure you care less..heh. spigity-spoon.

Good info there thanks..Is it true that if you get into an accident and have removed your airbag, your insurance will not cover you at all?

does the SRS light pop up, or did you just not plug in the SRS plug on the back of the cluster?

When I put my momo wheel in my eg civic I had to make a horn adapter out of a feeler guage
Take a feeler guage and put it where the screw is in the pic I am showing and also connect your horn wire to it under the screw then bend the feeler guage so that it is always touching the copper plate on the hub then hook the horn wires up on the wheel..

Re: how to install a momo/spoon streering wheel and hub (Kid1320)
Very nice install how-to,
I just did the same install with a Momo Jet steering wheel but could not figure out how to wire up the horn. There's a ground, and two other wires. I plug it all in and the horn still doesn't work. I also tried switching the wires and still the same result. If anyone know how to wire up the horn button, plz reply or email me. thanx!
