Default Greg's in-car video

I've been playing with the new video camera (thanks Santa) and have been converting some VHS stuff to digital format, so I'm posting this for Greg. This video is in-car footage from Greg's first class (ITA) win at PIR in only his rookie season. Thanks to Demian for hosting the video. Enjoy.

Video #1 The race start. Nothing too spectacular when the flag drops, but keep your eyes on the blue VW. 7 megs.

Video #2 Battling with a 240. 4 megs.

Video #3 Watch the rearview as Greg gets dive-bombed by a RX-7 in T-10. 2 megs.

Video #4 Chasing down that RX-7. 4 megs.

Video #5 Finally getting around the RX-7. 4 megs.

Video #6 Traffic and a battle with another RX-7. 6 megs.

Video #7 Taking the victory lap with the checkered flag. Keep your eye on the rearview. Oops

Yeah. It's Greg (road rage) M.

Matt,
Greg will have to answer your questions about the camera and mount. I think he has the IOPort mount though. He should read this today.

Road rage?? I may get a little animated around a certain Canadian RX-7 driver but come on...

Yeah the mount is the IO Port. The Video camera is a new generation Sony Hi-8 with the built in jiggle control (whatever they call it...). The mirror is an All-View - same chit as the NASCAR guys use. I really like the mirror. It's a little spendy but worth the ability to see all around.

John - I get an error message re: compressor error. It may be my firewall @ work or something...it's not like I need to see this nonsence anyway

Hmmm.... The clips were created with WinXP Movie Maker. I can see them fine here at work with Win 98. Sorry man.

Good stuff mang. All I had to do was update my media player. Nice digital capture...I'm wondering if I got the same feature on my camera?

Greg,
Good race footage. Good thing you are a clean driver. That RX-7 driver was trying to get the chrome horn from you cutting across your nose like that. (clip #6)

Cool vids! What kind of engine is in that car? Just the RS?

I think that is hilarious how the flag flies off!

96 SOHC VTEC - It's a stock RS b18 engine... nothing fancy

Mike - I agree. If my bumper cover wasn't so clean and straight I might have bumped him on the back straight. This is the same Yahoo who turned in on me and put a big dent in my front fender earlier in the summer... That's the reason for the profanity on Clip #6

Greg ~ who respects RX-7's, but will never like them

I finally saw a couple of the vids today, wow. Now I am starting to get scared to go out there. Quite a different perspective from the schools and lapping days!

I liked the pass on the RX7 at around turn 6? that is the same line that I have been shown and use at PIR, so it is nice to see it work.
