NASA February VIR event - Registration is open
Okay the day you have been waiting for... Registration is open.
Go to http://www.timingroom.com to register. The link from the http://www.nasaracing.net page will probably be up this afternoon.
You will need to re-enter your membership numbers. NASA has changed its policy on membership - it is now annual, and does not expire 12/31/02. If however, you sgned up December 2001, or Janary 2002, OR February 2002, you will need to renew prior to the event.
We will be checking all memberships and you will need to have your cards on you at the event. IF you do not have a CURRENT membership, you will not be allowed on the track...
Membership can be renewed at http://www.nasaproracing.com
Other questions, please email me at registration@nasareacing.net

Now that I've signed up, i'd better check.
Do I need a competition license for the super-comp school, or just a Competition prepped car? Will there be someone there to Tech a new car? Will the NASA powers-that-be be observing for provisional license sign-off?
Nothing like being prepared

I believe you have to contact Alicia for some rookie forms.

And do your medical BEFORE the school. All paperwork and med forms must be filled out. I've seen exceptions be made, but never count on something like that.

So, is it a 3 hour enduro or 4?
I was hoping for 4 hours, w/ 4 drivers, might have to somehow change that plan

Don't know what's piling up faster, the paper needed to race or the interior bits I'm pulling out of the CRX. I've had to stop twice and clear it out of the garage to get room to work, and still haven't stripped the doors or sunroof.

- I haven't seen my membership card since I first put the number in timingroom.
If you have done that and you do not have a card, contact them either through their website www. nasaproracing.com or epatterson@drivenasac.om
The NASA_VA registrar will be checking these this year. You MAY be turned away if your membership is not current - especially those who have driven with us in 2002.
Sorry, we have certain issues that we are required to adhere to this coming year.

For the SUper Competition School - you need a fully race prepared car and all the saftey equipment you'd need for wheel-to-wheel competition.
Your car will be race teched - in other words, if it doesn't meet all the regs, you will not be allowed to drive it. You can contact the Chief of Tech and arrange to have it looked prior to the event to help you out if needs be.
You will get an email advising you of what paperwork you will need PRIOR to the school. One thing is a current medical. Since there are hard to get appointments form you'd better make that now!!!!!

Elyse,
That is great news about the change in policy. Except, I joined NASA National on September 23, 2002 membership number: #110975. Now I am unable to locate my card. I may have tossed it since I was under the impression it expired in Jan. What should I do about registration day at VIR in february and the eight other NASA events I plan to attend in the next few months?
