JDM ITR aluminum AC bracket info
I recently test fitted a '92-'00 USDM Civic AC compressor on a JDM ITR aluminum AC bracket. This bracket will be great for people with '92-'00 Civics that want to install a DOHC B-series swap and keep the factory AC intact. It allows the Civic AC compressor to bolt up. This bracket costs the same as a '94-'95 DOHC VTEC Del Sol AC bracket, which does the same thing.
Threads need to be tapped into the holes that will be pointed out in the following pictures.
Here are some pics:
The picture above shows the AC bracket bolted to a B20 block.
The picture above shows one of the four holes that need to be tapped with a 8 X 1.25 threads to allow the AC compressor to bolt on.
The picture above shows the hole that needs to have threads tapped (12 x 1.25) for the idler pulley bracket.
The picture above shows the hole that needs to be drilled and tapped with a 8 X 1.25 tap to allow the tensioner bolt to thread in. You will need to use a washer to align the idler pulley and the crank pulley. Make sure the washer is JDM y0!
Next, a small amount of material needs to be remove for the AC compressor to clear. The next two pictures are a before and after shot of what needs to be done.
Before
After
Now your Civic AC compressor is ready to be bolted up to the JDM ITR aluminum AC bracket.
I know, I know the picture above doesn't have the material removed. It was the only pic I had without the AC compressor and at the same angle as the following pic.

Kenji,
Do you need to saved down that material if your swapping the braket into a DC2 chassis with the exception of tapping the two bolts ?

Re: JDM ITR aluminum AC bracket info (Nameless)
Neither of those pics are me. I don't think that there has ever been a picture of me on the internet.
IntegraEVO,
I remember you. I sold you a set of Wiseco pistons for a B20 a few years back. I don't go on Hybrid anymore because it takes too long to load. H-Tech is VERY quick.
ButtCurrency,
I will post the 'Skake eyes' pic soon.
DaveROR,
What happened to the LED winshield washer install pics from that night?

Re: JDM ITR aluminum AC bracket info (sgT)
Steve,
The USDM ITR AC compressor will not bolt up to the JDM ITR AC bracket. Don't ask me why this is the case. I have no idea why Honda would do this.
The USDM Civic (except '99-'00 Si) and USDM Integra use different AC compressors with different bolt patterns.
You could line up two of the bolt holes (closest to the belt) and do a small spot weld if you wanted to use the JDM ITR AC bracket. Or I am sure some sort of bracket can be fabricated.

Re: JDM ITR aluminum AC bracket info (kenji)
As far as I understand, the alu bracket is not made to support the compressor. The Alu bracket was stock in my Euro ITR. When the previous owner bought the A/C option the dealer replaced the Alu bracket with the iron one, they said because the Alu bracket is not made to support the compressor.
Now, I have removed the A/C and put the Alu bracket back.

Just curious but why put the bracket back on at all if nothing is mounted to it?
Kenji - good info - thanks for posting it up!

So you saying on my 99 GSR I can just swap out the bracket and tapped the holes for the Tensioner screw and that's it ?

No, that is not what I am saying. I said the USDM Civic (except '99-'00 Si) and USDM Integra use different AC compressors with different bolt patterns.
Hence, the compressor bolt pattern on the JDM ITR AC bracket is the same as the bolt pattern on the USDM Civic AC compressor(except '99-'00 Si). This would mean that the bolt pattern on the JDM ITR AC bracket is different than the compressor bolt pattern on the '94-'01 Integra.
If you use your '99 GS-R AC compressor on the JDM ITR bracket the compressor bolt holes will be different and will not line up.
