Default Installed new fuel pump, but fuse popped, '#14 alternator and solenoid valve'..related to pump?

Well I was on the freeway today, full boost in 4th gear for a couple seconds then the car just shuts off. I noticed that the fuel pump wouldn't turn on...and I just installed a walbro yesterday. So after raising the car height up for the tow truck driver and getting it home, I discovered it was a blown fuse, #14, alternator and solenoid valve....WTF is the solenoid valve??? Is this fuse related to the pump in any way? I had to do some wiring for the pump, so I don't know if that could of done it or not?

That fuse is associated with almost everything. The only idiot light that comes on when you try to start the car is the battery light and the car wont start, correct?
I was making a 3rd gear pull with my 100 shot and my car did the same exact thing. It was due to the constant wire for my bottle heater shorting out on a dashboard brace.
Look for a wire that has been fried in two and that should be your fuse blowing cause.

BTW, you could have replaced the fuse and drove home instead of paying the tow truck company. I just used the rear defroster fuse to get mine home.

The exact same thing happened to me after I installed my walbro. I just upped the amps to a 20, I think, its 5 more than what was in there before. It has been running fine ever since. I know this is bad practice but I have yet to find out why it pops that fuse. The pump is probably pulling alot more juice than the stock unit.

Yea, at the moment my brain was cluttered with thoughts of how I could of screwed up the pump install so I didn't think to check the fuse box....but when I got home I busted out the test light and was happy to find a broken fuse instead of dropping the tank agian. And no pay, AAA rules

Thanks for ton for all the help! I have 3 extra 10amp fuses now if it happens again...I'll have to watch it and see how it is. Weird how it happened to you when you were doing a 3rd gear pull, maybe something when the pump is under high load or something, I'll just have to wait and see. I thought I blew my engine right when it happened, scared the **** outta me!

That's odd...I wonder how many other people have had, or didn't have this problem? How did you guys connect your wires to the pump? Mine didn't come with a clip, so I used two female spade connecters and just used it that way.

I used the butt connectors it came with to connect it. I have read this happening a few times over in Forced Induction. But that was awhile ago. I tried replacing with the same amp fuse but it kept blowing. I was stumped at first because I couldn't see the blown fuse...It runs fine now, has been for over half a year with the pump.

Mine did the same thing with the walbro. I replaced it with the same fuse, and its been fine for about 8 months. It did it on the first long drive I took once the walbro was installed.
