has anyone changed a clutch in a H22/Civic?
i gotta change mine next week. my clutchmasters stage 4 just pooped out one day out of thin air. it only had ~900 miles on it. anyway, if anyone has done this, were there any tricks you did to make it easier? i built this motor, put everything together and put it in the car myself so i know everything about tight clearances and all that. i just wanna know, which mounts you took out, did u have to take the whole motor/tranny combo out, etc.
edit: i have a hasport mount kit if that matters.

Well i would put a jack with a piece of wood under the oil pan first. Then take out the side tranny mount all the way. Then also take the 3 bolts off the back metal t bracket that attachs the tranny to the rear mount. then take out booth axles and the intermediate shaft. Then take loose the starter, and all wiring on the tranny. Now you should be pretty home free. Take another jack with a board and put it under the tranny. Loosen all the bolts on the tranny and it should lower straight down with the jack. Shouldnt be to bad. You might have to move or take out ur radiator fan so u dont damage it. Good luck and just take your time. laters

that's what i was thinking, but might as well just disconnect the harnesses and take out the whole motor and have the easy access of unbolting the tranny, mid-shaft and such.
installing the motor with the tranny again would be easier IMO rather than workin with the motor inside the engine bay and reaching for bolts aligning things.

Save yourself the trouble and get an ACT clutch.. Mine has gone through two swaps and some abuse and still keeps on ticking.. My 2 cents..

true dat but then there's the problem with putting the trans. back on when the motor is on the floor. it's kind of tough to do (i've been through it). i think it will be kind of tough with the motor in the car but i think if the motor is slanted enough, it should go on ok. i'm gonna get another CM stage 4 (haven't gotten it yet, i'm away at school).
I did mine not too long ago..clutch and flywheel on the floor, with just my brother helping me.
We did it in about 30 min with only 1' all the way around the engine to work with in my very cramped garage
BTW, if your first CM stage 4 broke, why would you put another one in it? I would have a trust issue with that setup if it just craped out like that suddenly with such low mileage

update on my situation if anyone sees this. the clutch is ok. it was not functioning properly because a couple flywheel bolts backed out. i'm pretty stoked i don't have to spend money on a new clutch but at the same time i'm pissed that some bolts not staying in their place (even w/loctite) made me do all this work.
