Re: HONDA ELEMENT makes its public debut in Columbus, Ohio **PICS** (CC2)
yeah - the skylight is in the back. its right above the rear seats and the cargo area. they put it there for "hauling tall items, changing into a bathing suit at the beach, or staring up at the sky while sleeping."
the ride was quite nice. stiff suspension so it handles more like a sporty car than an SUV. its got enough pep for what it is. and, i'm assuming that aftermarket companies will soon be releasing engine mods for it since their target market is young males!!

Hmmm....some of those pics sure look familiar.... If you gimme your seats at a better deal, I'll say I like it, if not, I'll say I hate it. Just messin. It DOES look different, it a good kind of way though. It's starting to grow on me already.

That was a great meet. A lot of people showed up. That element was nice. I didn't like it when I saw a pic in a magazine but when I saw it in person, I liked it. I made a video of the days events at the Columbus Meet. It has a clip of the element pulling in as well as an awesome CL-S with nitrous. The video has some action shots of the CL-S just taking the "F" off. It was an auto and he wasn't even using the nitrous. Those things must be quick. I love 'em. Anyway on to the video.
Big file 46 megs but it's worth the wait.

Smaller file 33 megs...(same vid-lower quality)

I really liked seeing the Element at the meet. Much better in person, in a "real" setting!
Can't wait to get a ride in one!!

from pictures I've seen...it looks but I'd like to see one in person before I say anything else. Almost has the boxy looks like a 1st gen CRV.

Halltd! Thanks for the pics my friend. I love the green so much that I went searching for one as well!
Here's a pic with my V next to it. Man, this thing is big inside out even though the specs say it is 12" shorter than the V.
The drive...heaven! Early Christmas present?

Latest specs indicate Element is longer than first specs reported:
Noticed the Honda Element site is now near fully populated and functional. Excuse me if I am late to this realization.
http://element.honda.com/
Some interesting new specs (for me):
Length is 169.3 instead of previously reported 166.4; weight is about 20 lbs lighter each model; and mpg for EX Auto (AWD) is 22/26 (21/24) instead of 21/25 (20/24) as reported in early specs (College Hills Honda site).
Also most complete set of Element colors. Subtle enhancements of fender colorations to complement paint colors make each color look good.

Re: HONDA ELEMENT makes its public debut in Columbus, Ohio **PICS** (halltd)
first thought was it is ugly , but its growing on me.. paint the front and rear fenders to the color of the rest of the suv, drop a few inches, and some nice wheels, oh ya, put a mean front bumper on it, or a lip.. whats its engine code? has anyone swaped it into ne thing yet?

Re: HONDA ELEMENT makes its public debut in Columbus, Ohio **PICS** (91hatchcivic)
its a similar engine to the new CR-V. basically i think the engine is the same, but the final drive and some other things are different because the element weighs more. but, since the element doesn't come out until december 16th, i doubt anyone has done a swap. :D

Re: HONDA ELEMENT makes its public debut in Columbus, Ohio **PICS** (MIDNIGHT)
not legally - the back seat only has two seatbelts. it is listed as a 4-person car. the middle of the seats have cupholders, and the mechanism to fold the seats back into a bed. but, no third seatbelt.
