Toda Individual Trottle Bodies
What do you guys think of this? on a B18c1 or B18C-R.
Worth it? Maybe better if I got Intake Manifold from Skunk2?
Kinda spendy tho.

should you buy it if all you do is drag your car...hell yes
will it cut your gas mileage in half because it's like carburating your car...hell yes
should a street car have one...in my humble opinion, hell no

to compare the Toda ITB's to Skunk2 IM is like comparing apples and oranges....just think about the primary useage of your car and to what extent you want to modify your motor and its power output

to compare the Toda ITB's to Skunk2 IM is like comparing apples and oranges....just think about the primary useage of your car and to what extent you want to modify your motor and its power output
Exactly what I wanted to here. I wanted to know exactly what the Toda ITB would do for me. My car will be street driven so I dont think I will go with the ITBs

how does the ecu read the individual throttle body? or do u have to upgrade computer? just curious....i wouldn't get one..i'm happy w/ my skunk.

it looks like the butterfly valves (throttle plates) are linked together on a central rod, and the TPS is the black thing on the right end. Looks like stock electrical connector?

the toda piece is like $2600.....i have the tmw's for my hatch...very very nice too bad the motor is not in the car 
.....you can't use a stock ecu w/ itb's....even hondata is pushing it.....you need a full stand alone ie: aem, speedpro, dfi, etc. on the tmw the vacum is from a fitting on the bottom of each runner..connected to a small vacum canister.

I agree except for one thing. They absolutely destroy midrange and low end power, like Ridge racer said, the is just not enough velocity at low rpms to make the ITB's efficient, I have seen people run them on the street, but the driveability is absolutely horrible, I run a Victor-X on my B18C5 and that is cutting it close to undrivable. I have seen the Power FC do wonders for the TWM setup though.

how is the MAss air flow sensor setup? the stock ecu would go into safemode with that for sure, u definaatly need a standalone

You have to run 4 individual vacuum lines from if horn to a box or something that can use a Map sensor from a Toyota and then connect the ECU to that map sensor.
I spoke with Alan from Toda about this extensively beofre along time ago and I can't remember the exact conversation. He recommended waiting until Toda makes a engine wire harness and ECU. But that, as you can imagine, will make an already expensive part, more expensive.
Oh and everyone's definition of streetable is subjective. What you and I consider not daily driveable may be fine to someone else.

That thread will also explain some on why stock ECU's and standalone's have problems with ITB's due to things like MAP sensors.

I have a fully gutted car with a heavily modded B18C5, I consider it barely streetable.

I love how Jeff was unwilling to show the graph, must run like *** at low rpms.

Haha Yeah, at least he Jeff admits there is no use showing the graph before 5k and that it basically falls on its face until you hit high RPM.

Well with my personal experiences with my good friends, they make quite the difference, and if your scared you put them on just your drag car, if your an OG you'll pop the hood at even the grocery store and see the itb's...
