2008 NOPI Drag Racing Series sanctioned by NHRA RULES
Following is the link to the rules and regulations, accepted body and fuel listings for the 2008 NOPI Drag Racing Series sanctioned by NHRA.
NHRA and NOPI Motorsports has developed classes to ensure that all cars that competed in the NHRA Xplod Drag Racing Series in 2007 will have a place to race in the NOPI Drag Racing Series sanctioned by NHRA in 2008. Combining the classes brought on many difficult decisions that had to be made in order to provide a level playing field and encourage side-by-side racing for all competitors.
NHRA and NOPI thank you for your patience and we are looking forward to an exciting year of racing.
If you have any questions or comments please direct them to Glenn Woods at glennw@nopi.com. Individual questions will NOT be answered in this forum.

Woot
Cliffs for PWS
"TIRES
FWD naturally aspirated applications limited to a maximum width
of 9.0 inches and maximum height of 25.0 inches; racing slicks
permitted. DOT approved radial tires, front and rear, mandatory on
FWD (6-cylinder only)/RWD (4-cylinder and 6-cylinder) forced
induction vehicles. Rear “skinnies” prohibited on forced induction
vehicles only. Max tire size limited to 235/60. All tires must be DOT
approved and warranted for highway use. Retreads, space-saver
spares, or any other non-DOT-approved tire prohibited.
NHRA-approved radial tires for FWD/AWD cars
(maximum rollout on drive tires 84 inches)
Make Model
BFGoodrich Tires G-Force and Comp T/A
Dunlop Direzza
M&H Trackmaster Drag Radials
MT Drag Radials"
and all motor cars have to have a full exaust this year
It seems like the MT drag radials will be the tire of choice

Re: 2008 NOPI Drag Racing Series sanctioned by NHRA RULES (DBigman)
seems like there is no minimum for fuel cell....mmmm
also i think you got the strain guage and dog box mixed up. how would you regulate a strain guage? i could put mine on the bottom of the shifter....
seems like they removed the dox box penality all together, pro classes look great.
unlimited street looks insane.
my biggest concern is you have so many variables looks to me you should move tech into thurs fri for these guys, lots of things to look over and regulate.
but all in all looks very solid. there is some things i would have added though.

Hmm...
Turbo Street tire rules.
FWD limited to a 25 x 9"
RWD and AWD limited to a 26 x 9"
Where's the logic in that? Give the cars with more traction more tire and give the cars with less traction less tire? lol
Also:
AWD with transfer case min weight - 2900
AWD w/o transfer case min weight - 3000
What's an AWD car w/o a transfer case?

Joe notice that there is no mention of FWD turbo 4 cylinder cars having to run a radial in PWS. Bias plys it is

Turbo Street
6 cyl fwd gets a 74mm turbo, is that right? seems kinda wierd that k series 4 banger gets a 66mm while a 6 cylinder gets a biggun.
also a 6 cylinder in turbo street that is RWD gets SLICKS? it used to be drag radials and they were running 9.2's lol

this has to be a mistake. there is no way that can possibly be correct
