Propped hoods?
Alright i know this sounds kinda gay, but i've seen lately alot of people rollin around with their hoods kinda propped up and i was wondering, is this what people are starting to do as in a style, or is there a reason for this lol? it seems kinda weird to me.

Re: Propped hoods? (924doorEG)
you mean... to shim your hood. if you grab some washers and put them between the hood and where it mounts up, more washers on the bolt towards the window. it actually helps with the cooling of the engine. dude heres a suggestion. get a block of wood, drill a hole, put a big *** screw threw it and BYAAHHHHH! haha j/k.

Re: Propped hoods? (R81_EJ7)
there is function behind this if your using a LSVtec, or B20vtec as the motor tends to sit higher in EG chassis.. im not sure about ek..
but mostly its a style for the most part... I dont like it but i found out the hardway that I need to do it.. I launced and my motor went damn near through my cf hood... cracked it all the way through.
Granted i should have some inserts instead of oem mounts but yeah... it does serve a purpose in some cases.

Isn't the whole purpose of an intake to take in AIR. Hence the name AIR (The stuff around us) Intake (The process of taking something in).

Yeah, I'd be terrified some air might get into my intake. Heaven forbid.
AIR in the intake? Please forgive me for being presumptuous...but I'm fairly certain that's what an intake does. You know, suck in air...

That makes sense. I always wondered what started it.
I think its retarded if your just doing it to jump on the bandwagon. It makes it look like you wrecked your car and the hood doesn't line up with the car anymore. It takes away from the "clean" look of a car.
