Default b16 head with gsr cams helppppppppppp

i want to put gsr cams in my b16 head, will i get any hp out of it? do i have to change valves and springs? is it worth it, im trying to stay all motor? Ive herd of trying different cams in my intake and exhaust, example---- itr intake and gsr exhaust, will that work?

Problem with that is the GSR cams was made and tuned for that motor, if you're going to use it in your B16, then you need to get your car retuned as well to get them to work well...Not sure how much you'll gain. Probably less than the trouble to put it in and cost of tuning. And No, you don't need to change valvesprings. Why not change to CTR cams and valvesprings instead?

gsr cams are not worth the time. stick with ctr cams and dual valve springs. like LSV said.

ive installed a set of gsr cams in my b16 last year. id noticed it pulled hell of alot harder at 6000rpm all the way to 9700rpm. compared to my stock obd0 cams. good upgrade if your on a budget.

no way you felt a big gain it had to be all mental

Integra GS-R
Int-230 dur. / 10.6mm lift
Exh-227 dur. / 9.4mm lift

Civic Si '99 Spec
Int-240 dur. / 10.7mm lift
Exh-227 dur. / 9.4mm lift

this dyno is of a b16stock and a b16 with gsr cams red is b16

gsr looks like a waste of time to me

either go ctr or itr or aftermarket

comparing my obd0 cam with gsr cam i pulled harder from 6g and up. obd1 b16 cams are simillar to gsr but not obd0. ive even raced my buddy with same motor swap we were neck and neck till 6g and i pulled away. both motors being obd0

with frist gen b16's gsr cams make alot of difference now that i think of it.

with those b16a3 motors that are horribly detuned, gsr cams make no difference.

according to http://www.g-speed.com/pbh/b16a/

b16a and b16a3 are the same

this gives you some info on the duration and lift for the diffrant motors

I tried gsr cams in my b16 and honestly didn't feel much of a difference, but i got them for free when my bro upgraded so hell, ya can't beat that. If your trying to stay all motor and feel significant gains your gonna wanna go with type r cams and valve train at least, its a good gain for people on a budget

you can upgrade to pretty much any stage 1 cam without swapping valve trains, my brother swapped to skunk 2 stage 1's when i got his gsr cams and he liked them, you upgrade to any stage 2 or 3 cams and your gonna need dual vale springs and titanium retainers though, valves are optional

type r, gsr, ctr + cam gears + tuning=20 hp

the gsr and the b16 heads have dual springs on the intake side if you find a set of those you can use then in your exhaust side and wala dual springs, just get a set of titanium retainers and you have a budget valtrain upgrade. the detail about running these cams on the b16, that must, people dont know is that if you swap tu one of this camshafts you also need to get the lifters swap or the cams will wearout as time goes by. if you want to comfirm the hp gain chek out evans tunning website he did a complete study about swapim to this cams!!!

oh by the way the intake side is where they are different, the specs on the exhaust side are pretty much the same, some people just swap to ctr intake cam only!!!

If it helps. . .when I bought my b16 it already had gsr cams in it. With only the cams and a DC header, it dyno'd at 152hp.

Stock b16's generally dyno at around 135-140 right?
