Re: sway bar sizes (rybred)
front. the letter is painted in the middle of the swaybar and embossed on the side of the bushing.
F = 19mm solid - all 4 door civics and wagon
G = 17.2mm hollow - CRX HF (Civic STD had no front swaybar)
H = 18mm solid - 3dr Civic/CRX DX, Si
K = 23mm hollow - DA integra
rear. the number is embossed on the side of the bushing. I believe they are all solid.
13.0mm = 3dr Civic Si
15.0mm = CRX Si
14.7mm = 3dr DA integra (doesnt fit EF perfectly, see explanation below)
15.9mm = 4dr DA integra (doesnt fit EF perfectly, see explanation below)
16.0mm = JDM SiR / EDM VTi CRX w/ B16 (uses a 15.9mm bushing)

funny you say that, i just pulled my front bar off my 90 LX. i used the ES measuring tape since the bushing was illegible.
measured out at 18mm. now a DA front/rear is on it

Re: sway bar sizes (NastyHabitzCRX)
LX or EX, the 4dr sedans are 19mm by my mitutoyo caliper.
i found the 19mm and 23mm (hollow) bars equally the same in feel or negligible difference. the 23mm one was a bit lighter.

Re: sway bar sizes
so the da sway bar will bolt on to the crx si front, with no mods?
what the advantage of the hollow over the solid?
what about the HF sway bar? lighter weight but how does it affect the funtion of the sway bar?

Re: sway bar sizes
soo.... i found a 15.9mm rear swaybar from an integra 4dr... in fact TWO! today in the junkyard.
i actually went ahead and bought it too. just so i could come back and compare it to a stock CRX one...
and i learned something. DA and CRX/Civic swaybars are NOT perfectly interchangeable! i dunno, for some reason i thought they were, ppl were always saying they put it on or something.
first of all, the bracket is completely different. im talking about the one that bolts to the frame and holds the bushing. the holes will NOT line up even if you had an Si. maybe if you have a DX and dont mind making a new hole for it to line up, but the holes are just not in the same pattern. (i thought they were interchangeable, maybe i was the only one who thought so...)
secondly, the distance between the bushings is NOT the same. so you cant just take the DA swaybar, even if its 15.9mm which is greater than CRX Si 15.0mm, and swap it in. its about 2" closer, so it should no line up, perfectly. i dunno, maybe you could wedge it in, its awfully close to the bends. but i would not recommend it.
the length of the arm itself is the same. from the bend to the end bushing/link. but thats about it.
so i guess if you REALLY wanted to make a DA swaybar work, with DA brackets that you had available, the best solution would still be welding and strengthening the bracket and drilling holes to fit it in place of the tow hook. see here: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/how-i-put-da-rear-sway-bar-my-dx-hatch-pics-galore-1146145/

Re: sway bar sizes
^^^^ this makes me wonder too cause i went to the junk yard today looking for bigger front sway bars, and came across a 93 prelude. comparing the prelude front sway bar to the 92 teg's front sway bar (the one i got instead) was WOW. the prelude's front sway bar was huge compared to the teg's and made my stock one look like a pencil. i even got a look at a 89 prelude too, wasn't as big as the 93 but was bigger then the teg's.
the question was, anyone try fitting a prelude front sway bar on to a EF? the end links look like they would fit, but wasn't sure if the center section would clear the stock exhaust and shifter linkage. i was temped to buy it and try it out, but decided not to. anyone try to see if it would fit?

Re: sway bar sizes
there is no reason to believe a prelude swaybar will fit. if you want to try and confirm, go ahead.
the reason why DA and EF parts match is because integras have always been based off civics of the same model years. thats why parts are easily interchangeable between the two.

i welded flange nuts in the frame where the stock location holes are (but not threaded). it was waaay easier than making some janky looking brackets.

yea, i know the only thing i see different with a prelude bar is that it sits kinda like this _~_ while a DA/EF would sit like _^_.
like i said before the center section that would fit over the shift linkage and cat, on the prelude bar, it's not shaped like a U. it's shaped more like a S. cause the prelude uses cables not linkages like a DA/EF. the only reason i can see the prelude bar from not fitting would be cause the bar would probably be hitting the shift linkage.

Re: sway bar sizes
its a flange nut welded in fully welded upside down. you can kinda still see the gray primer from where i tried to keep the metal covered up afer welding

Re: sway bar sizes
not really but ok. looks like a clean job.
but the benefit of the new bracket in the link above is that the bracket was made A LOT stiffer. the OEM bracket does kind of need it. but whatever works.

Re: sway bar sizes
yeah, but if i really was a stickler i could weld an arm from my tow hook to the DA bracket. though i don't see any reason too, the forces on the DA bracket have to be up and down and not side to side.
this car has been like this for 2 yrs no problem, but i also am not a guy that likes to make turns! set up mainly for straight lines and such, but def helped a lot with day to day driving.

Re: sway bar sizes
i bolted the DA rear sway bar straight to my crx hf, but had to stretch the brackets that go to the lower control arms abit. and there are threaded holes that the sway bar's stock bracket bolts on to on the crx(the holes for the rear toe hook)
