Re: D-series Ebay cast manifold (joker4096)
Doesn't look bad. It has to be better than the SSAC "equal length" mani's you see everywhere.
Cast manifolds, cheap or from a kit, will generally last longer than a poorly, or even well made tubular.
I've been looking at those for a cheap turbo project on a Civic I picked up for almost nothing, but just havn't found the motivation to put it together.
I'd like to hear some feedback from anyone running one as well

Re: (strictly.business)
i ran the drag mani on my old setup (same design as this) ran it with 7psi spring in the wastegate and 25psi on the boost controller, held steady, no creap, no spikes...i would run that mani before anything else besides a ramhorn or something. gets a from me.

Re: (rextec)
It looks just like this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem
I ordered the b-series one from that seller (local pickup for me ).
I have a used drag mani and it has a small leak, near where the oil dipstick goes through. I figured this was cheaper than having it repaired. I don't want to change up my downpipe, so I hope its the same dimensions.

I love this. Someone comes in here and has first hand experience with the product (or at least a very similar one) with more hp than anyone is planning on pushing through it. What happens? Someone comes in and argues why in theory it's not 100% perfect.
If you don't have first hand experience i really don't want to hear it. I've read too many threads full of BS about how the wastegate position is "improper" and it'll boost creep because of it.
edit: And when i say "i've read too many threads" it means i've searched here and another forum and that's all i can find is topic after topic full of it. If you had one and it creeped/spiked, tell us. If not, please press the back button because i don't need to be educated again why it's bad placement.

the placement of the wastegate did not ever cause me any problems. i ran a 7psi spring in an ssauto wastegate, with the boost controller cranked to 25psi. NO CREEP, NO SPIKES. ever.
say what you want about wastegate placement, in theory sure its bad, but in practice it works just fine. if i can cram 25psi of boost through it and make 400+whp on it and have it hold rock steady boost...id say the wastegate placement is just fine.
