DIY: Install Front Tow Hook
Alot of people are getting front Tow Hooks but don't know how to install them...I thought that you would install it by taking off the stock Tow Hook and replacing it with the Benen Tow Hook, but it's not that easy...Here is a DIY thread on how to install a Front Tow Hook...
Tools:
Dremel Kit or something that can make holes through metal
(2) 19mm Sockets
First thing you do is find out where you wanna put the Tow Hook on your bumper support. Once you find where you wanna put the Tow Hook, mark it with marker and cut a hole. Remember you mark it on the bottom of the bumper support...
Make sure that the stud of the bolt can fit into the hole...
Next, Right above that make another hole(on the top of the bumper support) but make sure that you can fit the 19mm socket into the hole...
You can see the ground right through the holes...
After you made that hole on the top of the bumper support let the nut drop into the hole....
Then from the bottom of the bumper support stick the bolt along with the tow hook inside the hole...
Then use the 19mm socket and tighten Tow Hook down(use another 19mm socket or 3/4 socket for the other side to make sure the Tow Hook is secured to the bumper support...
And here is the final results...

The reason why I put the Tow Hooks is because I am shipping my car over to Hawaii and they need to put it on a trailer...there is no way that i would let them use the stock Hooks and pull my front bumper right off...

Yes it's only held by one bolt, but it's pretty sturdy...you just need to tighten the Tow Hook to the Bumper Support as tight as possible...

call me crazy but removing the front bumper and putting it in the car is free. and they wont damage anything then.

Why would I take my front bumper off and ship it like that...Sorry bro but that wouldn't make any sense to me...I rather get tow hooks and ship it like that...Plus I already called the people that are shipping my car and they said that Nothing can be in the car...I can't even have anything in my glove compartment...

why dosent that make sense?
it saves you money and its only a few bolts to remove the bumper lol
then they have access to the factory tow hook so they wont damage your stock bumper.

Use the stock tow places. You are trusting one sheet of metal with one bolt over tow plates mounted on the frame rails? I trailer my race car a lot and I can tell you even with the car slammed you won't rip off the bumper.

Re: DIY: Install Front Tow Hook (BlueIntegraBoy)
I've never had problems using the stock town points either. The stock ones seem more sturdy just from looking. I can see where the benen one is in a better location though.

Yea that tow hook isnt going to hold up worth a **** if you really have to use it. Dont we already have tow hooks that are directly attached to the frame lol

Yes we do have tow hooks but if you read my other reply I already had a bumper ripped off of my car using the Stock Hooks.
