Default MUGEN RNR WORST RIM EVER.

I might get alot of hate from honda-tech on this, I want to know who the hell still buys mugen rnr aka the jdm brittle rim for 1000-1200 dollars. I owned a pair in silver they were cracked, I fixed em they cracked again. I bought a pair in blk and red with no cracks and guess what they ended up getting stress cracks by the spokes. So to all dont buy those cheap *** mugen rnr rims. If you want a strong rim get a forged rim. If i gotta go into everybody selling mugen rnr rims and hate I will do so because in the long run somebody is gonna pay hard earned money on a piece of **** rim like the mugen rnr.

Are you talking about REAL RNRs or the Rota versions, or both? Are the real (mugen) RNRs forged? I always liked the look of those....

Im talking about the real rnr rims. Real rnr rims are not forged they are squeeze processed which means they are squeezed full of **** material thats why they break like a breakfast cracker.

Mugen RNR's haven't been in production for a long time. What kind of driving do you do with the rims? just street driving? track? offroading lol?

Seems like you have had bad luck with the RNR's and others haven't. I guess its time for you to move on to another rim and stop buying those "shitty *** rims".

I got 16 inch spoons and the only reason i made this thread so nobody else gets jerked buying these bullshit rims. and it doesnt matter if you drive em on perfect pavement they still will crack. I live in florida and the road arent messed up so there is no reason for them to get stress cracks.

You have to watch out for USED Spoon/Regas though. I have seen many that are bent. Always good to put them on a balancer and check them out.

I agree with you 100%, I've heard way to many bad stories about the RnRs, however I've heard nothing but good things about the Desmonds.

Too bad, the RnRs are beautiful wheels.

I owned a set of SSR GPO (theta) wheels and they cracked over and over again like your talking about. I searched all over and every set that I could find for sale were cracked or had been cracked and repaired. kinda shitty seeing paid $895 a peice for the 3-pieced wheels. I will always buy a solid wheel from now on.

I basically do a lot of research on different wheels and I can say that regas/spoons are strong. SSr type x are strong. Sparco rims are strong but not light. I learned my lesson and the only other rim I would get would be the work rsz r's.

Yeah keep this on top. I would like to give a big expletive you to all the people who presently sell mugen rnr rims for 1200-1400 talking about they are mint knowing good and well that once the tires are mounted and the rim hits the pavement they are going to crack.

i hate to hear that about your wheels, but it's good that you are letting people know about them. I guess they don't live up to the hype. Do you guys think tires with a bigger sidewall will help protect my wheels? Seems like it would, but i don't know if it would help enough to be worth it.
